Congratulations on your first B!! It’s beautiful. It’s an H classic for sure!! Like many here are saying, I would only care at all about my preferences. Given some weighed in in your life “everybody told me I should have gotten noir” doesn’t mean that it is YOUR preference, and they didn’t buy your bag, you did!! Those kinds of responses engender in me a wish to say something like “what an odd thing to say“ 😛 My guess is that it’s daunting to buy such a bag especially the first time (it gets easier, believe me, don’t know if that’s a feature or a bug 🤓).

I have never cared what neutral (or color) anyone else loves, my only true neutral in a bag is black (I shudder at white or light neutrals for myself as I’m the mom of a rambunctious dog and an iced tea drinker, not a safe combo!). And I only buy colors I absolutely adore. Only brown exception I make is some LV canvas that I acquired during Covid to have an absolutely carefree bag to carry during hand sanitizers etc.

Though I love and appreciate H gold for others, it is not a color for me as I just don’t prefer anything in the brown family in clothes or bags (partly because I don’t look good in any shade of it). But that matters not one bit when I see your bag, and so many other‘s gorgeous gold bags here! They are beautiful, and are just right for them or you. Just as my Noir B with phw makes my heart sing and it’s perfect for me!! I also adore bright pinks, purples and blues, and I know neutral lovers may not. That’s as it should be. Most of us here appreciate everyone’s unique taste and choices and it’s a blast to see all the different ways we each choose and present, even if we couldn’t pull off someone else’s style. @880 is so much fun to see, as she styles and rocks so many different things, in different colors and looks great in all.

The very best thing is that H makes such beautiful bags, color or neutral and I hope you can settle in and love your first Birkin. You chose it for a reason! So hopefully you can take some reassurance and love your bag. If over time it just doesn’t suit you, it is so easy to rehome that combo and get a different bag. Happy New Year! :flowers:

One of my first buying lessons from my SA at Hermes was, buy a "color". H does color like no other
design house & "gold" is a classic color, timeless & can be worn all year around which is a plus &
the B25 in gold togo is a standout. No mistake here, IMO
A black bag will always come along

I think your Gold B. is beautiful. And I love the twillies as well.
You picked Gold for a reason. Don't let others ruin your joy, as long as you love it, that's most important. And you can always get a black bag later.
