I just bought my first bag a new birkin 25 gold togo from a reseller. Everyone told me I should have gotten noir and now I'm regretting it lol. Because they were about the same price but I chose gold. Please tell me I didn't make a mistake. Because I'm trying to decide if I should just sell it and get noir now. I was really torn between the two of them honestly.

To spend thousands of dollars and then second-guess based on others' opinions has to mean something. As an outsider it reads to me as you weren't buying based on your actual attraction to the bag. What if they tell you they prefer the Kelly? Think of the treadmill you're hopping onto.

Take the time to assess if you're thrilled with your purchase. If not, return it!

Unless you only wear head to toe black, Gold will be a more versatile choice than Noir. My first Birkin was Gold and I loved it. I have at least 6 gold or Fauve Hermès bags and love them. Whoever "everyone" is that is telling you Noir is sooooo much better, they don't know H colors that well.
I also personally think that Gold is better in a 25 than Noir, because that size works so well in warm weather with lighter clothes.

It's normal to second-guess such a big purchase for a short time , but if you are really not happy and/or you are that swayed by "everyone"'s opinions, then return the bag :flowers:

Personally I went for noir K as my first bag because I wear a lot of black and navy even in the summer (lol). But I've also been trying to incorporate more camel and dark brown colors in my wardrobe and gold ofc would go really well with those, so I have requested gold as my next color.

I do agree with @QuelleFromage that depending on what you wear, gold can be more versatile. For example, gold with pastel blue/light blue outfits could work well in the summer as well as darker burgundy outfits in the fall/winter. Even gold with pastel green type of outfit would work well in the spring.

But ultimately the decision lies with you. I wasn't particularly ecstatic when I received my first QB either actually, probably because I knew for sure that it would work with my outfits. All I can say is that there is a lot of versatility with gold, and you shouldn't let other people's opinions get you down. Hopefully my two cents helped with some style inspiration for your new bag

Thanks I guess I wanted gold when I saw pics of it. I never saw it in person. I live in a small town and no Hermes store nearby. I looked at so many videos of it and noir because I thought black could be useful too. But I had wanted gold first. I also always struggle with buyer remorse or guilt honestly after I pay so much for a bag and it was the most I ever paid for one and I start asking myself was it a good purchase or not.

I know for sure I'm not really interested in a kelly. I like tote bags and the ease of getting things in and out on the birkin made me want it more than a kelly. I never saw a gold birkin in person or any birkin actaully. I don't live near a Hermes boutique. It was the first one I wanted when I saw pics of it though. I looked at them for a long time since last year. lol I had a hard time knowing if epsom or togo would be good in it and struggled with that at first. Then recently I thought maybe noir because it is first choice for most people and you can't go wrong with a black bag. Then I thought noir is also pretty. But I knew I had been looking at gold for soooo long and so I chose it. Then when I shared my purchase with others they said I should have gotten noir first because it's a classic and gold was just brown. It's the most I ever spent on any bag and it bothered me that maybe I didn't choose wisely because I may never get another one. It's actually not returnable though I could submit it to them for consignment, but I'm not sure if I want to or not. I'm afraid of being disappointed in noir and wishing I kept gold. It's a struggle with me making decisions because I'm asking myself which one if it was my only bag or even if I should go with something totally different since there are so may brown and grey shades that I might use even more. lol

Let it settle a a few days and then decide. I guess you have so much emotions right now, as you just received the bag, you've been wanting for so long. After a few days I believe you are very clear of your thoughts, either to keep it or not.
I believe you made the right decision, because it was the first colour you looked and thought you wanted.
Personally I think Gold is more luxurious than black. It stands out more, due to it's beautiful brown colour and contrast stitching - it really is an eye catcher. Black on the other hand is more versatile and suits easily with everything.

Either noir or gold - each and both, are wonderful choices, so stop torturing yourself. They are classics that withstand the test of time so you are very lucky. Gold looks lovely with blue jeans, navy or light blue clothes, creams, tan etc. Actually I wear mine with black clothes as well, even though I do have black bags. Gold is super versatile and probably a much better choice than black for warmer weather. For cold weather its chic to wear a simple black coat with a classic black bag- so maybe that’s for the future. What sort of climate do you normally live in?
