I would get the manhattan because it's classic monogram but a newer style. monogram perfo will be too dated after a while and the vernis just gets icky if you don't take care of it. (though you do have a wallet in that.)

alma is THE classic LV along with the speedy. you can use it yearround. why spend so much on a bag you can use only for a short period of time because it is too trendy. and besides, its your first LV purchase, so go with a classic

Seems like to me that most of the bags that you have yer eyes on are handheld (I'm a shoulder gal). Then I'd say go with the Manhattan PM (adorable in real life) or the white Multicolor Speedy (stunning, but more flashy).

I'm with ya on the first real bag purchase. I also am about to take that plunge, eventhough I have two pochettes and an agenda... I LOVE the Manhattan PM. I LOVE white Murakami. My choices are the White Murakami Lodge GM or the Amazone which is classic monogram. I feel like for my first real bag I want a monogram classic.

I think the first bag choice is an important one, and you are right to get feedback. Whatever you decide, you are going to ADORE it foreber...
