My Birkin was stolen

This is extremely sad to hear. We work hard to buy these items.

I don’t trust anyone apart from my 2 siblings. No cleaner is allowed in my house since they stole my child’s cash from my drawer.

I have also purchased motion sensor cameras for areas where my items are stored and I love the fact it sends a loud siren noise immediately on my phone to alert me there is someone in that area immediately. It records at the same time too.

We are living in a weird world now. No fear to commit crime due to lack of punishment. Many many people lack integrity & morals these days.

Can you share the camera system name? I have some cameras but would prefer something like what you’re describing

This is terrible, I’m so sorry. You can up you’re insurance policy for full replacement cost, I have this on my luxury items.
This is a bit misleading. I think you meant that we should increase our insurance policies to cover full replacement cost of valuable items. It was not advising PorscheGirl to up her insurance cover now, in order to get the full replacement cost of her stolen bag.

I agree with Swanky asking if you can be sure they did it.

I would never ever mislead anyone….and take exception to you stating so. I have full replacement value on my luxury items through
my insurance company and pay my premiums for this coverage. Fact!

I have an "insurance rider" on my more expensive jewelry...jewelry costing over 10K. It can get a bit expansive depending on how much jewelry you insure. Usually covers lost/stolen items but can depend on the individual policy/terms. I also have a safety deposit box but that can be a PITA...you have to think ahead!
I suspect this is what you have, @Rouge H

Thanks, all. I can be sure they did it because no one has been in my closet since they were here. And I had taken down the bag before they were here. I was going to use it but changed my mind. I filed a police report and told all this to the detective.
I'm livid for you. I was robbed of my designer purses, approximately $50 to $60k, back in 2015. I didn't have any Hermes bags at that time. Luckily, my insurance covered all of it. Depending on the policy, the carrier may pay you more, i.e. the replacement value, which is what happened on my claim. There were a couple of LV bags that were actually more to replace than what I paid, and I received the replacement value. Bags that were less than a year old, I received either what I paid or very close to it. If the cleaning company has a CGL policy, tender a claim on its policy.

Goodness. I had my SO K20 stolen not long ago in my place (made a whole thread). What is happening?! It seems now more than ever our bags are not safe!!! Can you call the police? In the UK they are not very helpful. If you have enough ‘evidence’ you can have a strong case especially if these people came from a company which will usually have a really good insurance. But how horrible. And what an intrusion!!!
omg

Thank you all for your thoughts! I did file a police report, and I should hear this week from the insurance company. I hope the insurance comes through for me, but I so miss my Birkin! I'd much rather have it here where it belongs, than the insurance money!
It is actually an interesting story about how I acquired it. Despite all the stories of how difficult it has been for some to acquire a Birkin, for me it was so easy as to be ridiculous. I was in Hermes Beverly Hills, when I lived in LA, looking at scarves. An SA came to help me, but his regular customer standing nearby was clearly annoyed. I told him to help her and I'd look around till he was able to help me. I hadn't yet decided to try to buy a Birkin, probably because of all the stories of how difficult it was. He helped me find the perfect cashmere shawl, and I left.
A few weeks later, I decided I really did want one. I called him, got his voicemail, and left a message that I was interested in a Birkin. He returned my call and asked, "What size and color?"
