More diamonds, should I or shouldn't I?

I tried that pendant yesterday.. It's F A B U L O U S!! :graucho: I think it's called Solis here though.. well that's what my SA called it!

For Tiffany's I don't think there's much difference in prices for here and Asia.. You get GST refund but other than that it's not significantly cheaper! But if you want unbranded diamonds, you can get alot of savings from them! My mom's jeweler is crazy.. she recently bought a F VSS1 1.5ct RB for just under AUD$12k and they only charge $500 to set/re set anything!

They didn't have the ring and I forgot to ask about the price! I was too excited about trying on the ribbon lol The perth store had 2 pendants on display though!

Mom's jeweler is in Indo.... is that what you meant? Not sure where the diamond was from!

That's funny - I was like that with the Soleste ring ....sorry what were the specs again.....so dazzled with the ring. Did you love the ribbon?

Wow the Perth yellow Soleste/Sola ring has gone??? I only looked at it last week in Perth and its gone already. I wasn't planning on buying it (because I'd rather hold out in hope of going to the US) but just surprised how quick it disappeared. Maybe the stock levels are as low as US!

Thanks for your tips saligator. Good to hear from someone with a HOF. Are you happy with the stone, do you think the sparkle is noticeably better than most non-HOF stones? From the HOF ring I tried, I just didn't think it had as much bling as the other ring I tried which is bigger and cheaper. Maybe its the effect of size. I thought it was very white but lacked sparkle which was a bit strange since HOF are designed for maximum light return - I was wondering whether it was my inexperience with diamonds.

I'm happy with it...but for the amount of cash I spent on it, I'm sure I could have gotten a diamond that I would have loved just as much. So, its kind of a marketing thing. I didn't know all that much about diamonds when I purchased it, and feel like I made a good "safe" decision, though not a particularly thrifty one LOL.

dontsaycovet hahah... whoever has it is one lucky lady!! maybe it got transferred somewhere else?

Yeah, I love love love the ribbon ring.. It's been my dream ring for a while now! Even my SA said it's so 'me'! SO didn't like it when he first saw it but after seeing it on me a few times... that's his preference too over the legacy/princess cut! :p

GucciGoddess3, was yours a branded ring? Isn't the price difference shocking. You could have a free holiday to the States with the savings on another diamond ring. I've already convinced my bestie that's where she needs to go while our dollar is strong . I so badly want to go too! There are online options but I just can't get my head around buying a diamond sight unseen.

Hi, yes, mine was a branded ring. It was custom made. Totally agree with you on going over there. My sis-in-law is American. I'm thinking if she goes back soon, I'm going to get her to do some diamond ring shopping for me lol. I am totally with you on the online buying. I was so close to doing that, but, when it comes down to it, I really can't, as you say, buy it without physically seeing it.
