Trixx that looks like a dirty dirty beige. lol ahh I'm so annoyed! I had the yellow eldridge saved on my watch list and I just deleted it this morning! It's a bright "sun" yellow. It was discontinued in 2000. It's bright and in your face, but very nice. Here's a great page to read up on for your vernis and just about everything else LV:
Oh and the shimmer you're talking about is the best part of vernis! I think it shows up most on the lighter colors more than the dark. However I have seem some older pieces of vernis that have looked just lifeless...kind of like that beige one in the picture lol. It's horrible what a little sun damage can do.
jdy324: Is the sun yellow the same as the baby yellow like this?
The vernis leather is soo sentitive Im afraid I'd mess it up but they are TDF. The fuschias retain the most value IMO, they're always running more expensive than the other colours. Good you kept yours! Will check out the link thanks PS: how do you maintain and store your vernis pieces?
hmn.....there are only five colours i can pick from the Vernis range,White,Red,Rasberry,Hazelnut and indigo blue. I think i will probably go with Hazelnut or white.......
my god...there are so many bags i want to get at the moment.......its driving me nuts !
Trixx, here is the same advice I give everyone whenever they ask about vernis.
1. Do not set your vernis down on anything. Especially anything heavily died or on print- like newspapers, magazines. Basically anything with color. When I was using my vernis wallet I would only put it on the bare table with nothing else underneath it. In my purse it stayed in its purseket compartment so it wouldn't have to interact
2. NEVER ever leave your vernis items out in the sun or in a heated area like a car. This won't cause transfer, but instead a discoloration like the beige piece above.
Oh an the yellow, is like the color of these smileys
Kuma, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were only choosing between perle and noisette. I would definitely recommend noisette. It's an all-season color and has a lot of shine to it. The perle is gorgeous, but since you're buying a purse, I'd personally want a more durable color. That's why I suggested either the red or indigo. Lighter vernis colors are much more prone to transfers and discolorations. There was this one girl who had a perle cles and she got transfer on it because mixed in with the heat of it being under her arm, it also rubbed against the red alacantra lining of her pochette!
thanks jdy324, I will sure be very careful when I purchase my Vernis Bedford ! and Cilifene's bag is stunning !! makes me want a Vernis even more now......
If you like it and can carry it well, go for it. I love some bags but they look funny on me so I had to go with being practical and find something else instead.
