My bag has one side where the signature has worn away. I contacted Louis Vuitton and was told they couldn't repair it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have only seen something like this in one of the threads due to hand sanitizer. If it's not that, I wonder if something happened in storage? This is a real shame.

Think through your behavior with the bag, because this is highly abnormal and appears to be the result of some type of solvent situation. It wouldn't just magically disappear on its own.
From LV's point of view this is wear and tear, unless there's a known issue of defective canvas for that year. Absent that, it happened from usage, or how you stored it, unfortunately.

I'm wondering if it's a result of wearing it on my shoulder and it continuously brushing against my pants

I thought about that but then thought it would be a more common problem because everyone would wear it and similar bags the same way? It looks as if it was placed in a shopping cart front basket where something was sprayed.
