A friend of mine recently bought a 3 carat moissanite and under certain lighting it looks like a diamond but there is that extra flashes it has that gives it away. I think most people who do own a real diamond would be able to tell it is not the real thing.

My engagement ring is Moissanite. I've worn it every day for 5 years and it still looks as good as it did the first day. Nobody has ever asked me if it's a diamond or not, but if they did I would not hesitate to explain that it's a moissanite. I recently got a great new job and treated myself to a pair of little moissanite stud earrings, which I wear everyday. I can honestly say moissanite is just as nice, if not nicer than diamonds and so much more affordable.

I like moissanite, too! I have a blingin 3 ct equivalent solitaire. Sometimes I wear it in place of my diamond solitaire which is 1.28 ct and not a really high quality. I forget the specs and lost the certificate...it's been 27 years lol
