this is grained lambskin, not grained calfskin (caviar) like what you would expect. I think this will not hold up as well as calfskin caviar.

Has anyone heard that Chanel is no longer producing classic minis in leather? Leather minis will now be in an extra mini size?! The classic mini size will only be offered in fabric or tweed.

Is this true for the current collection or going forward?

Will they shrink the size of top handle and pearl crush minis too?

A theory on the classic minis...When I was in store last week I asked my SA if they had any classic minis in tweed and they only had one in pink, which I turned down. They were sold out of black leather ones (I have one), but she said she would look out for tweed classics coming in. I really want one in a blue or green.

I think its more likely a new size, (kind of similar to the idea to the one discontinued in 2019) that has been introduced, to differentiate seasonal mini bags to those that will be considered 'classic' minis going forward..who knows maybe we will see a return of caviar for a 'classic' mini and a price rise . But I can try to see if my store will shed some light on this as it is a very good question.

Strange considering they're already in store! I saw in Cherry Creek NM 2 months ago and in Dallas boutique recently. I don't know about them replacing the classic mini, but the new minis with boxy sides are definitely on shelves.
