Hey guys! As the minis aren't released in caviar anymore, I am considering getting a black one in lambskin. However, I still feel afraid of buying a bag and ruining it with frequent use.
Could you please share, how the wear and tear on your lambskin minis has been - do you have (m)any scratches on the back side of the bag from the bag rubbing against jeans/belt/jacket?
Do you wear your lambskin minis only occasionally and baby them or do you get a lot of wear out of them and use them even in rainy weather?

I don’t have a mini but have the lamb skin in a medium CF and it still looks brand new. Granted it’s not for daily use but for when my husband and I go out on dates but no scratches at all and I have kids lol! Glad I got the lambskin over caviar tbh
I have both lambskin and caviar bags. Two of my minis are lambskin, and while they're beautiful/puffy, they're not everyday bags and certainly not carefree like my caviar ones (IMHO). As for using lambskin in the rain - that's a definite no no! Hope this helps.
My mini is my only lambskin bag in my collection. It’s truly like what they say, lambskin isn’t as delicate as everyone makes it out to be! I’ve been wearing mine consistently as an every day bag (granted I got it last month), but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I even had a mishap w my son’s art project w some paint but nothing a baby wipe didn’t fix. For me I think lighter colors are more high maintenance than the type of leather. Which is why all my Chanel’s are black!

May I also ask, have you been caught with your lambskin mini in a rain? I’m wondering why it’s said you shouldn’t wear it in the rain, is it because of the water marks on the leather? I’m asking because it rains a lot where I live. Thanks in advance!
Not at all! I have a black lambskin mini with SHW and am in search of/waiting on a black lambskin mini with LGHW.
I have a black mini and I am seriously considering the so black as well. I think the bags look different enough and have a different feel...
Would you use the so black for nighttime say and the lghw for daytime? I feel like the so black is dressier somehow?
I would wear either for both daytime and nighttime. It would have more to do with what I am doing and wearing. I would likely get so black in square for a different shape. If I needed to crossbody because I planned to be out for a really long time I would grab the black rectangle. If I knew shoulder carry would be fine then square. I don’t carry a lot so they both will fit my capacity needs. I’m rambling but hopefully you get what I am trying to say!
Thank you for your thoughts. I prefer the rectangular as I most likely only use it as crossbody. Also, do you know if a shaper is needed? I heard the mini in Lambskin looses structure after awhile.
I have been caught in the rain but there were no issues w the bag afterwards! I even had a mishap w my sons art project w some very bright colored paints . I just wiped w a alcohol free baby wipe, dry towel, then conditioned w Cadillac leather conditioner afterwards just for my peace of mind.Thank you so much for sharing hun!

This definitely takes my anxiety with regard to lambskin away! It seems like it’s by far not so delicate as it’s believed to be. So if my SA will find me a black mini with GHW, I’ll take it!
