Mini Lou Camera bag or Loulou Toy bag???

Hi all,

I couldn't decide between mini lou camera bag and loulou toy bag. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I understand toy bag is a bit bigger than mini lou, but capacity is not really my concern. I'm petite so I always like small/mini bags. They both seem to be right size for me.

Would appreciate your view.

It really depends on how you plan to use it and what “look” you like. They are both great bags!

I have a toy Loulou and love it. It really does hold a lot and the internal organization makes it super easy to use. I don’t have a mini Lou so can’t comment on its usability but imagine I would find it a bit it a bit less user-friendly. But that said, the grain de poudre leather might be more durable and the camera bag shape might be considered more classic. I think the chain strap on the Lou dresses it up...I see it more as an evening going out bag rather than everyday.

Another thing if you are petite...the strap on the toy Loulou is adjustable while the one on the mini Lou isn’t. I’ve noticed the Lou hangs really low on shorter frames.

I contemplated between these two also. I went with the Mini Lou because I wanted a camera bag and love the gold chain and the tassels. The grain leather is another selling point, totally indestructible.

Toy Loulou is cute too, but I already have a few Chanel minis, and don't need another mini flap bag.

What color are you considering? You have to check out the Youtube reviews and go with what works for your particular lifestyle. Have fun shopping.

I own both. The toy loulou is in dark green with silver hardware and the mini lou is in dark green with gold hardware.
I agree with the others that the mini lou is slightly more dressy with the chain and gold hardware. I still could use the toy for dressier occasions if I wanted to; I'd likely remove the detachable strap and use it as a clutch.
I am on the petite side as well and agree with foxgal that the bag does hang a bit low so I will likely only ever wear it crossbody. When worn crossbody it isn't too low in my opinion, but if I wear it on my shoulder only it feels awkward.

I would buy both bags again! I know that doesn't help you so what I will say is the slight slight edge goes to the mini lou only because I really like the grained leather. It feels a bit more carefree than the toy loulou. But that being said, if you want to be sure the bag will look good on your frame I would go with the toy because the strap is adjustable!

Yes I noticed that the strap on the mini Lou is not adjustable so I am a bit worried that it will be too long for me. I suppose I should try it on first and see how it fits, but all the retail stores are closed here at the moment because of lockdown, which makes it difficult for me to compare both in person. Only if the mini Lou had an adjustable strap!

I love the gold hardware and grain leather too. Interestingly you mentioned that you chose mini Lou as you have a few Chanel minis. I also have two small Chanel classic flaps in lambskin and that's why I want a more indestructible mini bag as an everyday bag.

I'm thinking to get a red one. A mini Lou with gold hardware looks beautiful but I haven't found a Loulou toy with gold hardware, only silver.

I searched YouTube but didn't find anyone did a comparison between these two bags. Hence my seeking of help here!

Lol I started to think I probably should just get both of them as it's so hard to decide! :p

Do you find yourself wear mini Lou more often or toy Loulou?

I have the Toy and absolutely loooove it! The really versatile strap is what made my decision easy, as it makes it possible to wear it crossbody, over the shoulder, as a wristlet or even a clutch! So it’s pretty much like getting 4 bags in 1, and it’s hard to beat that:biggrin: Also I think it’s really really gorgeous ofc and the leather is buttery soft, so my vote will definitely go to the amazing Toy! :heart::tup:

Thank, I love the colour also:amuse: I would say it’s a normal beige, I can post a picture taken in natural lighting tomorrow if you want to see the colour more properly:smile:
