Sir Paul McCartney has told Sky News there was nothing wrong with Miley Cyrus' bump and grind moves at the MTV awards, saying: "Come on, we've seen worse than that!"

The former Beatle told Sky presenter Charlotte Hawkins he was also happy for his 10-year-old daughter to watch the singer's twerking dance moves she has become synonymous with.

He said: "I watched it as an experiment to check, but you look at it and you say 'what's everyone shouting about?'.

"I think it was only mildly shocking ... it wasn't explicit at all."

Sinead's negating all the good points she made in that first letter. Also, putting it on Miley that her mocking people with mental illness leads to them dying is a bit much. She really needs to just pick up the phone and call Miley and talk it out in person if it's affecting her this much.

Open letters are never a good idea! Celebs have contacts through agents and labels, if something concerns you that much, use your pull, get the person's phone number and call them. And then if the larger issue is a societal concern go write an open letter without focusing it one person because it will inevitably seem like a shaming move, and send it to media houses for publication.

All this is true. But I just assumed that Sinead is pretty much just using Miley as a means to an end at this point. I'm thinking she doesn't really care how Miley feels but now she's got people paying attention to what she has to say because its attached to Miley which now makes it news. Nobody has cared about what Sinead has to say for quite some time, but now they're listening. I'm guessing she's going to take advantage of that for as long as she can. Sinead is no dummy. She knows exactly how this whole thing works, better than anyone. She's using Miley's bull-headed ness and the medias hunger for scandal to get her word out. Which is ironic because she previously tried to warn Miley about how everyone is and will continue to use her. Heh.

Exactly. Sinead wants to get the word out about her issues, and this is as convenient a platform as she could have asked for. She doesn't give a crap about Miley or whether Miley ever replies. She just wants to get the word out about depression/mental illness/suicide and have people listen. More people are reading what she's saying because she addresses it to Miley.

How did this turn into a rant against Sinead? Sinead at least had valid points about mental illness and the way people who suffer from it are treated in society.. I 'd listen to 10 pages of righteous indignation from Sinead before I'd listen to anything else that came out of Miley's mouth and that horrible, coated tongue.

I don't care if Miley reads it or not, the fact that it was an open letter and got a lot of attention just might give someone pause before wrongly ranting on a person with a serious disorder.
