I didn't hear them either. And I don't like the song one bit. And I hate theidea of Miley doing anything"like" Lana...
I just watched/listened to Wreaking Ball (mainly because I wanted to watch the Nicolas Cage version LOL). To be honest, I don't mind a song. It's not a smashing hit kind of song, but her voice is good. The video was a another story.
It started out great. Miley has beautiful eyes, I could even buy the fake tears maybe... but then she decided that a sad, emotional song needed a hammer licking and erotic crotch rubbing of the literal wreaking ball in the nude? =/
Just really doesn't suit that song so her entire persona comes off awkward rather than sexy or controversial. ... and not that good, funny, hot kind of awkward (like Zoey Deschanel).

It's more of the way she enunciates the ends of her words. I'll listen again. I came into it in the middle of a verse and thought someone was trying to mimic her a bit.
It was kind of funny cause the next song played was Summertime Sadness.
When I first read the Lana-Miley comparison I was like hayleeeeeeee no... But I listened to the song yesterday and I heard her trying to copy Lana in some bits and parts. But Lana > Miley all day, everyday.
I agree, I felt like she was picking up on Pink in the singing and outfit.

Very. She is very criticized in Mexico too for having plastic surgery on her face before she was 18 and for being so skinny.
A lot of my friends that are from Brasil have had plastic surgery before 18. The most common is breast implants. It's not uncommon for central/South America
funny how robin thicke's music video where naked women humped animals and danced around with their breasts out never got such a "disgusted" reaction from the mainstream public...
