Liam Hemsworth has reportedly offered Miley Cyrus an olive branch by telling her she can keep her engagement ring following their split.
The 23-year-old actor, who confirmed his split from Miley, 20, earlier this week, is said to have told his former fiancée that he has no desire for her to return the sparkling diamond.
Miley's ring, which Liam presented her with last year, is a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweller Neil Lane, worth $250,000, handcrafted in 18-karat gold and speckled with intricate diamond floral motifs.

But despite their relationship allegedly ending on less than civilised terms, Liam is said to be keen for himself and Miley to move past their animosity and become friends.
A source told RadarOnline.com: 'Liam wants Miley to keep the ring. He wouldn’t ask for it back. Liam told Miley to keep it and do with it what she wanted. He told her to keep it as a memento of their love affair.
'When Liam bought that ring, he truly believed he would be spending the rest of his life with her. Now he realises they are both just too young to be ready for such a big commitment.'

The reports came as Liam was seen out in Los Angeles on Tuesday in the wake of the split.
Looking in good spirits despite the drama in his personal life, Liam managed a small smile as he made his way into his friend's house.
Liam is certainly doing his utmost to seek comfort following the split from his friends and family.
On Monday night, Liam and his mom Leonie were seen leaving the Chateau Marmont Hotel in Los Angeles after apparently having dinner.
Wearing a white T-shirt and blue baseball cap, Liam kept his head down as the pair headed home from their evening out.
Their outing comes as it was claimed that Liam had been left 'mortified' by Miley's now infamous performance at the MTV VMA awards earlier this year.
Miley bumped and ground up against Robin Thicke while wearing nude latex underwear, in what was deemed a wholly inappropriate performance.

The Miley being treated so unfairly makes for a good story. But I don't see it. She is selling quite nicely.
But I think it is rather interesting people in the industry are calling her out. That doesn't happen much.They usually co sign on all bs. I have noticed people do think she is talented and that she is better than this. Her creative team is a lame one. Put some clothes on her and lets see what she really has.

Personally, I think her two new songs, "We Can't Stop" and Wrecking Ball" sound great, musically that is, but her performance with those songs just messed it up for me. I honestly think her songs would still sell a lot and be in the top 20, even without her embarrassing herself.
Mileage varies, although I dont see how selling records is a salve for being treated unfairly. I mean I'm sure Miley's not crying into her 5000-thread count sheets over adverse opinions, but I think it's interesting that she's getting so much flack for essentially doing what other celebrities have done. Rihanna for example. A fan grabbed her at a concert and she hit the person on the head with a mic. She's constantly on Twitter and Instagram posting pics about and alluding to her pot use, showing her ***, cussing out people, cavorting with strippers, wearing even less than Miley and flitting about carnival. There's a video of her embarrassingly drunk and stumbling, barely able to walk out of a club. Then there's Bieber who has done a huge number of embarrassing and cringe worthy and assy things too. Alec Baldwin was laughing off his assault on a paparazzo on a talk show. I'm honestly just not seeing why Miley is deserving of all the flack. Gaga performed on that very same MTV stage with a thong for cripes sake. They're all walking around wearing the bare minimum.
Anyhoo at the risk of getting repetitive, I'm gonna shut up about it and just say that she looks really beautiful in that pic with Liam. I never thought she's any great shakes in the beauty department, but she looks gorgeous there. Love the hair.
They've probably split a while ago and this explains why we still see her wearing her ring around town or when she's photograph.

I can't stand Miley right now.... but blaming her for Liam cheating is something I will never co-sign for on anyone. Nobody can force another person to cheat. Their behavior can definitely drive them away but cheating is a cop out. Either put up with it, try and work through it or break it off.

Miley's performance sucked. I think that is the issue. Honestly I can't see Pink or Cher criticizing her lack of clothes. And Pink cannot talk about drunken behavior. lol.
wow, I never paid much attention to her in her "normal" days but seeing that pic with her body a bit more filled out and her longer hair in sharp contrast to her today look makes it seem like she was gorgeous back then.
Because a lot of pop stars before her have gone this "wild" route in order to be talked about, I agree that the amount of flack she is getting is a little silly. That said, I do think her Disney roots are a large part of why she's getting called out like she is. Britney and Christina got the sl*t-shaming, too, when they tried to move away from their bubblegum-girl images; Miley's "Hannah" character was a huge brand, and I think it irks some to see her do a complete 180 turn from it.
