the latest episode of the Fresh Air podcast is an interview with her. She seems nice enough but comes off as a bit pretentious to me. I guess that might be true for a lot of actresses.

Yes, but she is a competent actress and chooses interesting projects, imo.
I have yet to watch one of her films where she was bad.
