I was just in Saks Fifth Ave and saw the new Michael Kors bags and I think they were really nice. I've been luke warm on him before, but the Sutton Large Satchel in Coffee is TDF IRL. Perfect size and really lovely leather. Can't wait until those go on sale, they were $1200.

I tried to post a photo, don't know if it will work.

I think some of MK's bags are really nice, while others not so much. Same thing with the M by MK lines - there are some really nice bags (esp for the price range), while some of the bags just aren't anything spectacular. There's no real consistency there.

The one MK bag that I found at TJMaxx (the ID Chain Satchel), which retails for $1200 is a REALLY nice bag - I still can't believe I was able to get it for $300!!! The leather is heavenly - soft & buttery - and the lining is a nice, thick, rich suede. The bag is constructed nicely with beautiful details. It definitely compares with other bags in the same price range (a few Prada bags come to mind and Mui Mui). He makes a smaller shoulder bag with the same kind of leather and lining - and that one retails for only $495, which I think is very reasonable for the quality of bag that it is.

There were a few other MK bags at TJMaxx that I was not at all impressed with. One of them was a hobo bag with fringe on the front (I think Jessica Simpson had the same bag in a leather/suede combo). The leather was VERY stiff and hard, and seemed to scuff very easily. The lining was a foil-like leather and didn't look nice at all. The other bag was a large suede & leather shoulder bag - it also had the same foil-like lining. Neither one of those bags were anything to brag about (IMO), yet they both had retail prices of $1395!!!

The Michael by MK line is a little bit better. Some of those bags are really nice, esp for the price range (the Astor Satchel for $295 and Darlington Grab Bag for $318 are two of my favs!!). Coincidently, I just received a catalog today from Michael Kors. There were a few of the higher end bags (including the bag shown above and the one I got) shown inside, but most of the bags that were shown were from the Michael by MK line. To me, it looks like he's producing more bags for the lower end line, and not so many higher priced bags. I don't know, maybe that makes them more exclusive??

hmmmm.....I did not really see a lot of the higher end bags that I liked. I'm going to have to look more. I saw a girl today in TJ Maxx with a really nice Tanish-yellowish one. It was leather. GRRR.. Now I am going to have to find a pic and show you guys. It looked really nice! But I did not want her to feel like I was casing out her bag. LOL! (Even though I had Louis in my carriage.) LOL! I'm going to try to find it.

I like MK - not my favorite, but good quality good price- I might even run over to L&T and see if they still have that deal going on- that's a great price!

It really is a good price. I could not believe it. I hope you find one there! Let me know! They had it on the web site also. (the wallet) it ended up $55.00

Just checked it out at NM and I like it!
I like the Belvedere Hobo - although the color's a bit weird. It was M by MK - but still, couldn't believe how cheap it was! (GOSH, that's the addiction to tPF talking. I've got my mind set on some LV pieces, so whenever I see a bag under $400 I think of it as 'cheap'... Crazy!!)

I like some brown mono things too - although when I see 'MK', I don't immediantly think 'Michael Kors'...

Edit: Yay! I love his sunglasses!

LOL-I'm the same way! LOL! I am saving for my speedy 25, and I am almost there, but when I see something that is "Cheap" I feel the need to buy it! LOL!

Nothing wrong with that. I LOVE MK. He's one of the best designers to come along in a while in my opinion. He dresses a lot of stars. Mary J. Blige wore an MK gown to the MTV music awards. Jada Pinkett Smith wears him a lot also. Why dont you go to his website and look at some of his things and then make your mind up?

I will certainly do that. I'm interested in other brands, and I can't believe there is actually so much to learn! (Gosh TPF is bad for my wallet!) LOL! LOL!

I have found that I don't completely love all of his line.It seems to be either a love it or a hate it for me. No matter if the M by Mk or the premium line. I haven't seen the Michael Kors line IRL but I do have 2 M by MK bags. I like both of them a lot, I think they are nice quality but they don't necessarily overwhelm me like say the quality of a smooshy Marc Jacobs.
