Sorry to hijack the thread but does anyone know if they carry Rileys at the outlets?

Eta: called and asked and they said no, Riley is a "lifestyle" bag and they don't carry those.

I've seen a couple Riley's in my outlet. But they were transfers from the Lifestyle stores. They're not a bag that they carry on a regular basis.

Thanks reginaPhalange!

Are bags at Michael Kors Outlets made for the outlet then? Are all the bags at outlets totally different from retail stores, or are they cheaper versions of full price bags?

Of the 12 MK bags that I now own, 4 were purchased from the outlet. Only one was a transfer from a Lifestyle Store (the Naomi Straw Tote). I've had no problems with the quality of my Med EW Hamilton or my Domed Satchel. The Florence was just purchased a week ago for my sister-in-law, but it feels and looks like it's very well made. The only difference I've seen with the outlet bags is the large MK logo that's on almost everything. But I visited the outlet on Saturday before Mother's Day and I noticed quite a few of their newer styles have scaled down the size of the logo's and metal name plates. I'm very happy about that. The huge letters & name plates are a turn off for me. I was told by one of the SA's that there should be more mark downs after holiday so I'm headed back down there this weekend to see what I can find!

Bags at the regular stores, not at the outlets

The majority of the bags in the MK outlet are "made for outlet." These bags were never sold for the price indicated on the tag- it's a gimmick to make shoppers think they are saving a lot of money. I've never bought a MK outlet bag, so I can't speak to the quality. Every now and then you can find a bag from the MK boutique at the outlet & you can get a good deal on those.

As people before me mentioned majority of the bags are made for outlet, however they do occasionally get transfers or returns from lifestyle. This is extremely rare as their recent policies state outlet purchases can only be returned to an outlet and same with lifestyle pieces. I've never purchased from outlet (with the exception of one occasion) because the price difference wasn't substantial enough and I was never fond of the outlet styles, which are cheaper versions of some lifestyle bags. The one time I purchased from outlet was because the bag I wanted was transferred from lifestyle to outlet as a markdown.

Thanks everyone! I had no idea there are different types of Michael Kors bags. Is there any way to tell the difference between an outlet bag and a lifestyle one? I know Coach used to have a F inside and/or a bullseye mark (not sure if this is still the case) in their for factory accessories.

Coach still does but the bullseye means it's a delete from the boutique not a bag made for factory.
