I too hope the integrity and craftsmanship of the brand is maintained, but we know MK likes mainstream. It would be a shame to see Choos poorly made, with logos all over them in discount shops. I'm okay with a drop in pricing if all other things remain the same :nuts:
I hope so also. I’ve had my eyes on some of the Jimmy Choos, and hope that it still retains its integrity

I have only just come across this thread but I think the borderline disgusted reactions to this (not just on this thread, on Twitter) are so snobby and misinformed. Same goes for reactions to the Kors/Versace news. MK is gearing up to be a large conglomerate, they are simply making smart business decisions. They aren't 'lesser' than other investors just because of the sociological perception of the Michael Kors brand customers, or where Michael Kors is stocked. Regarding social media reactions to the acquisition of Jimmy Choo/Versace, I have seen immense class snobbery which makes me sick to my stomach, using straw man fallacies to belittle MK company and their customers (e.g. this brand is stocked at this discount retailer/department store, so it's beneath me). Yes, that is not nice lmao. MK has the capital to back up legends in design, I don't see the need for any sort of outrage to be honest. It would be nice if people cared as much about other social issues affecting their community rather than arguing about brands that have never received their patronage, and never will.

I would never bash those who adore MK handbags, either directly or by voicing my distaste of the whole brand, the idea is abhorrent to me.

Woah, I think you're clearly misinterpreting what others are saying here, and you're blowing this wayyy out of proportion.

With respect, I would like to point out that I did not direct my comment towards anyone in particular, I was merely commenting on the mentality behind those who would have reacted to this news in a manner as aforementioned. NB, I especially highlighted that I was not reacting exclusively to comments that were made in this thread, I specifically made mention of other social media platforms.
