Its $80 more which I find a little strange (I'd think the leatehr woven chain would be priced higher than studded canvas)
The zipper detail reminds me of the MbyMJ Leola which has a bunch of asymmetrical zippers on the front (I wonder if this version was inspired by the Leola?)

I checked out the Collete again yesterday. I like the tote, but it is the hobo I didn't like as much. The aubergine tote is really nice. The silver hw against that color of purple is great. I never pay full price for a bag, but if I see it at a good discount in the future, I may grab it.
Hmm it's a little bit heavy--I was just comparing it to my LV Galliera PM (weight wise) which is super light. The hardware on the Colette is pretty substantial and isn't flimsy so that makes me happy and it's not so heavy that my shoulder hurts at the end of the day, if that makes any sense. The only time it seems to feel heavy is when I put my gun in it (I'm a detective and sometimes go shopping on my lunch break, LOL).

Did anyone but the aubergine that was on sale at ebags? I skipped it, but now I wish I had bought it. Seeing the tote irl made me love it. Now I must wait for it to go on sale somewhere, but the aubergine color seems to only be on the MK website now.

I will totally keep my eyes peeled for you! I am also loving aubergine but can't figure out which style to get it in!! That leather and color is fantastic!
I see that this thread is quite old, but I own this bag in aubergine. It is a brand new bag (never carried). The leather is very soft but appears to scratch easily. The only problem with my bag is that the strap is missing. I contacted MK and they said that replacement parts are not available. I tend to steer away from brands that don't stand behind their products and/or cannot offer replacement parts. So, no more MK for me!
