I was driving to a friends house and was at the stop light when my little brother send me a text message of the news. I checked the Times online (from my phone) and so far all it said that he was in the hospital in critical condition. next thing you know I'm getting texts and phone calls from pals telling me the news (I am a fan of MJ clearly) and then the article that confirmed it. I was in so much disbelief.

He was really young. 50 is young. If he was in his 90s...ok

It's sad so many didn't realize his humanitarian work until after his death.

i don't know why its hard for some folks to believe that a man who came from privilege would care about those less fortunate then him

when he was alive. The only thing that made me sad, was that he didn't like the way he looked and went through various plastic surgeries to alter his face

LOL. I was jamming to Billie Jean in my car the other day, stereo on full blast.

Michael set the bar so high. Very few current musicians will ever come close to touching him, he really was the best.

I Second That. I have "Another Part of Me" blasting as I type this:D. You guys should see me it's really quite comical because I don't know any of the moves. *Runs back to Youtube* If anyone wants to join me

I'll never ever forget that day. It was like the whole world literally stopped and there wasn't a single person who wasn't talking about it. Its rare to have the whole world in complete mourning like that and it was the first time in history someone on that scale passed away in a modern technology world. For the first time ever, the world wide web actually crashed. Google reported that they had so many hits regarding MJ that they thought they were under attack!

The moment people started to find out he was in the hospital, everyone started running from the streets:

There are so so many, its impossible to post them all here! Ive never seen so many tributes take place in so many places around the world, at the same time, for the one person person before.

Aww thanks for the videos! They are all awesome. I kmow what you're saying. It definitely brought the world together in mourning. I have never seen anything like it.. Everyone in the world knew who MJ was whether they liked him or not. I wish he could see the love that everyone has for him now, after being clouded with so much controversy when he was alive.
I love in the video on the subway when the 2 guys get on the train, they're kind of like.. WTF..? Then they kind of join in.

Thanks DiorAddict for the vids(I'm in tears). I remember I was in TJMaxx when my mom called me, I didn't want to believe her, then two minutes later someone announced it over the Intercom. I walked out of the store in a state of confusion, I just couldn't wrap my head around it. I just sat there on a bench until I had convinced myself that it was a mistake. When I got to the car and the radio was playing Billie Jean, I just knew he was gone.

Oh .. these YouTube vids have me in tears.

I was on TPF when I heard .. I had a text message to tell me he was in hospital & I sat with live-streaming from various TV channels on, waiting for news.

I feel sick to my stomach remembering the horror of that moment when his death was confirmed.

I hope you are happy where you are Michael .. doing that moonwalk with the stars xx

I remembered reading that Farah Fawcett had died and went into a meeting. One of the partners got a news alert that he was on his way to the hospital and interrupted our meeting with the news. Two or three hours later it was announced that he was dead. I remember refreshing Google news for that entire period and checking FB as well. I went into the bathroom and cried and I rarely get emotional. What a sad, sad day.

I love all MJ songs but my faves are "Billie Jean", "Heal the World" and "Man in the Mirror."

Michael will live forever even though he isn't physically here anymore.

Even through his children, I see Michael:

Blanket is his fathers clone, Prince looks like a mixture of both Michael and Debbie.
