Dad: Michael Jackson to Be Buried on His Birthday

Joseph Jackson says his son Michael will be finally laid to rest on Aug. 29, on what would have been the King of Pop's 51st birthday.

PEOPLE has confirmed a New York Daily News report that the burial will take place privately at Los Angeles's Forest Lawn Cemetery at 10 that morning, some two months after Michael's June 25 death.

Jackson, 80, said that these arrangements had only been finalized recently, says the News. He also said that his wife Katherine, from whom he lives separately, has been particularly hard hit by their son's death and suffers crying jags.

He further said that security guards prevented him from seeing Michael in the months before he died, and that daughter LaToya's suggestion to the media last week that Michael's Neverland estate would be moved to Las Vegas was not to be taken seriously.

"How would they do that?" he asked.

^Who knows?! I'd be surprised if Joe really has any say in the matter so I'll believe it when I see it (but maybe not even then).

I won't be surprised if the family opens some kind of tacky "Michaelland" theme park in Las Vegas. I think some of them are itching to make money off of this and it is disgusting.

I agree, I wonder how much Joe got for that interview...

It is incredibly shameful that he has not been laid to rest yet. It has been two months already.

Pop legend Michael Jackson died June 25 and was supposed to be buried on his 51st birthday Aug 29 but this has again been postponed to Sept 3.

A representative from the Jackson family, Ken Sunshine, confirmed that the superstar won’t be laid to rest until Thursday, reports a website.

Sunshine, however, didn’t give any reason for the delay.

According to Sunshine, Michael will be buried in a private ceremony at Holly Terrace in the great mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.

Only family and close friends will be invited to attend the burial.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A law enforcement official tells The Associated Press that the Los Angeles County coroner has ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide.
The finding makes it more likely criminal charges will be filed against the doctor who was with the pop star when he died.
The official says the coroner determined a fatal combination of drugs was given to Jackson hours before he died in his rented Los Angeles mansion on June 25. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the findings have not been publicly released.
Forensic tests found the powerful anesthetic propofol in Jackson's system along with two sedatives, the official says.
Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician, is the target of a manslaughter probe headed by Los Angeles police.
THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.
HOUSTON (AP)—A search warrant affidavit says Michael Jackson had lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol in his system when he died.
The document unsealed Monday allowed officials to raid the Houston offices and storage facility of Dr. Conrad Murray last month.
It says Murray told a Los Angeles police officer he administered several drugs to Jackson the day he died, including 25 milligrams of the sedative, which he gave intravenously.
The affidavit says Murray never ordered, purchased or received any of the propofol but that the doctor found about eight bottles of it in Jackson's home along with numerous other vials and pills.

Michael Jackson had lethal levels of Propofol in his system when he died, this according to a search warrant affidavit filed in Houston.

Dr. Conrad Murray told cops he had been treating Jackson for 6 weeks for insomnia -- giving him 50 milligrams of Propofol every night through an IV.

Murray told cops he feared Jackson was getting addicted so he reduced the dosage to 25 mg.

The morning Jackson died, Dr. Murray gave Jackson valium at 1:30 AM. Murray said the valium didn't work so he gave the singer an IV injection of lorazepam -- an anti-anxiety drug. Murray told cops Jackson was still awake, so he then gave him midazolam -- a sedative.

Murray gave Jackson more drugs. He says at 10:40 AM, he administered 25 mg of Propofol. Dr. Murray told cops Jackson repeatedly demanded the drug.

As we first reported, cops found 8 bottles of Propofol in Jackson's house after he died, but they do not know where it was purchased.

Cops also found Valium, Tamsulosin, Lorazepam, Temazepam, Clonazepam, Trazodone and Tizanidine, along with the Propofol.

The various drugs were prescribed by Dr. Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger.

Dr. Murray reportedly told cops 10 minutes after administering Propofol ... he "left Jackson's side to go to the restroom and relieve himself. Murray stated he was out of the room for about 2 minutes maximum. Upon his return, Murray noticed that Jackson was no longer breathing."

Dr. Murray says he began CPR and at some point ran downstairs and asked the chef to send up Prince Jackson, the eldest son, to continue CPR.

Dr. Murray says he noticed that Jackson wasn't breathing at around 11 AM. He was then on the cell phone for 47 minutes with 3 separate calls, from 11:18 to 12:05. The 911 call came in at 12:21 PM .... a much longer delay than originally reported.

Dr. Murray told cops other docs had administered Propofol to Jackson, including Las Vegas Dr. David Adams. Dr. Murray said he was at a cosmetologist's office where Dr. Adams gave Jackson Propofol.

Interestingly, according to the warrant, Dr. Murray refused to sign the death certificate at the UCLA Medical Center.

I'm not surprised at all...I was just waiting for the coroner's confirmation.. Like I said before, if it walks like a duck...

I'm sorry, but did I just read that a CARDIOLOGIST who was being paid 150K a month ran downstairs to have MJ's son continue CPR!?!?!??!

WTH is a "doctor" who doesn't know how to perform CPR doing admistering propofol and other various drugs to a patient???? I'm completely baffled and speechless.
