Years ago in college, I had a physical Anthropology teacher who said that there is no such thing as race because there is more variation within a 'race' than between races. I thought about it a lot and discussed it with her at length but at the end of the day, she was right. Race was created so people could stereotype people.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with this. It's human nature to want to label things - boy/girl, old/young, white/black...and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

All this talk about race and MJ's kids. At the end of the day, who really cares if there is more variations within the african american race that might lead to some blacks looking more white than white people (as one person mentioned in an earlier post)? None of that means anything in relation to MJ and his kids. Only genetic testing will reveal the truth. This is a section on celebrities, but some of these posts seems to be getting much deeper and perhaps would be more appropriate in another section? Just my opinion:smile1:

This morning I was listening to the radio and there was an interview with the author of Unmasked (I think that's the title) new released book about MJ's later life

Has anyone read the book? Are you planning on buying it?

The author seems to just want to make $$ off of this but he claimed MJ wanted to come out to the world and reveal what his last moments of his life were like. He had many things to say such as MJ being gay, how he went undercover as a hairdresser to find out what MJ's hair really looks like, that he really did bleach his skin..
I thought it could have been done more tastefully and was all about promoting the book. :/ This guy sounds shady.

Something else to share along these lines (I am not sure if I posted this here or not... if I have already forgive the brain fart!)

BUT....

In California, they have a defacto father law. Which means if a man is married to a woman and she has a child, by default, that man is the legal father of that child whether he is the bio father or not. This is why I believe Jackson married Debbie Rowe. That way he would not have to go thru the adoption process since he was not the bio father of the two oldest kids. This law has caused a lot of problems for men whose wives cheat and have babies by other men, because the man married to the woman is on the hook for support if they split up, even though the child is not his biologically. I think that smart lawyers told Jackson to enter into a marriage so he'd be defacto father of the children. This is probably also why Rowe has had a hard time terminating her parental rights. It is much harder to do when the children are born in a marriage, I believe.

I wondered why he married her. It was pretty clear this was another of his sham marriages.

^If this author is the same one who has been on with Nancy Grace all week, he looks like a freak show himself. He said this was his fourth book about Michael Jackson. I think it was a coincidence that the book was coming out now, but I bet he'll make a ton of money with it.

In the end, there will probably be dozens of people making a lot of money off of Michael Jackson's death, including his family.

I don't think MJ was gay. I'm in the camp that thinks he was asexual. I mean, you never heard any stories cropping up about men sleeping with MJ like you have with other closeted celebrities (like the men who came forward and said that they had sex with Clay Aiken before he came out of the closet).

I think he was gay, too. Out of respect for the fans, I won't elaborate on to whom I think he was attracted to. But I don't think he was asexual.

I

My point is he was a normal husband, a normal father. Actually he was a super Dad, a lovely husband. He took good care of Debbie. He had a happy marriage with Debbie. Just because of the media, she left him. It's not his choice. He can't live a normal life that she wanted. What can he do? Nothing. He had no choice. Then, with all speculations, accusations, lies and distortions, he was portrayed a different person. What can he do? Nothing. He's so helpless.

I don't agree that he was a 'normal' husband. They interviewed the housekeeper about his marriage to LMP and she said she never saw them express any physical affection whatsoever. I think that was a sham marriage and the reason he married DR was, as Roo stated, to get parential rights.

Agreed 100%. How can anyone say he was a "normal husband?" He clearly looked awkward in just about all of his relationships with women. Also, if that's what the definition of a normal husband when MJ was married to DR, then I've got a heck of a check coming from my DH for giving birth to our two kids...

You're saying this as if you're sure. How do you know this without any testing being done. If you're basing this off looks alone, you could be wrong. Have you seen Rashida Jones from I love you man? She has no so called "black" traits whatsover, and Quincy Jones IS her biological father.

Again with the comparisons? So just because Rashida Jones "looks" white, even though her biological father "looks" black, we're supposed to base our assumptions off of that? For every story of so and so is white but looks black, there is a story for so and so is white and looks white...
It means nothing. Personally, I have my doubts that MJ is the biological father, but my opinion means nothing and I'm fine with that. Genetic testing is the ONLY way to prove paternity, not appearance.

I just wanted to say, that it's still so sad that he is gone.
I am anxiously awaiting the toxicology reports and what, if any, ramifications there will be from the results. It's been what? Just over 20 days? Did they say it could take 4 weeks or more for the results? Seems like an awful long time...

All the talk in the media about whether he was the children's biological father.... Surely all that matters is that he adored them and they clearly loved him very much.

Amen to that! When Paris said MJ was the best daddy anyone could ever ask for, that was all I needed to hear and frankly that's all that matters. MJ was an icon, an idol, and a humanitarian to millions, but he was those 3 kids daddy and I don't think anyone will miss him more than his kids. Whether he's the biological father or not is irrelevant. Would he have loved the kids more? No. It was an unconditional love and bond that can never be replaced.

ETA: There's never going to be another MJ. Yes, he was a musical genius, but he was also a humanitarian that donated hundreds of millions of dollars to make the world a better place. He even donated the 1.5 million dollar settlement from the Pepsi accident to the Brotman Medical Center. Who does that? These days, we have a ton of the athletes and actors *****ing and whining because they think they're not getting paid enough. Boo freakin hoo. You're not getting paid that extra million dollars a year. Get over yourselves.
