Michael Fassbender, Chiwetel Ejiofor & Steve McQueen on BAFTA nominations

"I’m so thrilled and honoured to be nominated. I am very proud to be a part of this film and want to thank BAFTA for all the support they have shown us"
Michael Fassbender - Nominated for Best Supporting Actor
‘I continue to be immensely proud of the recognition this film is getting around the world. There is, of course, something particularly special about receiving a BAFTA nomination from home.’
Chiwetel Ejiofor - Nominated for Best Leading Actor
"I was so excited to wake up in New York to news of ten BAFTA nominations for 12 Years A Slave. It’s such an incredible honour to receive this recognition, especially from my peers back home."
Steve McQueen - Best Director

^ I loved Abdi too. I actually prefer him to Leto I just don't see him winning anything. It's a shame they haven't been able to capitalize on the breakthrough narrative with him they way they have with Lupita.

I think that's just a rehash of the interview she did with them in Toronto.

Well.... it's a tie between Fassbender and Abdi imo... He was so good!

Lupita will win either the EE Rising Star of the BSA.

I wouldn't count on that. I'm still not over the fact that Adam Deacon and Kristen Stewart won this award. It's popularity contest and Lupita isn't known with the general public yet. I'm not counting on Michael winning the BAFTA either, but I certainly hope he does.
Are you going this year?

Haha yes Deacon was a joke, I couldn't believe it! The some mates tried the whole "ah come on for once a minority is represented" and I told them it was even more insulting since they could have given it to the likes Chiwetel and Naomie ages ago. Deacon? Nah son, nah.... As for the Bella girl winning over N. Hoult and other Rahim I... never mind urgh!

Well thing is since 12 Years A Slave is a serious contender, Fassbender still has a chance, popularity contest or not... but I'm thinking Abdi is the other serious contender... though part of me thinks the win might go to Brühl, and he was good in Rush to be fair...

Yes I'm attending. But it'll suck because the ceremony will be aired on delay as per usual thus they will probably tweet the results ahead... the fun part will be the Grosvenor and Chanel party :graucho:
