I really like this set and McQueen is adorable when he smiles.

Meryl Steep and Julia Roberts, nothing else matters tonight at TIFF as the two present August: Osage County for the first time at Roy Thomson
Hall. Last night, Roberts enjoyed a quiet dinner at Grey Goose Soho House Toronto with four girlfriends. They were joined by Dermot Mulroney – a My
Best Friend’s Wedding … reunion! Disappointingly, no one started singing I Say A Little Prayer.
Later it was a British invasion on the rooftop at the private members club. Chiwetel Ejiofor, fresh off his acclaimed turn in 12 Years A Slave,
accepted enthusiastic congratulations from Tom Hiddleston, who shared a table with Ralph Fiennes and received an affectionate hug from Ewan McGregor. X-Men co-stars and co-mutants James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender chatted at length, leaning against the north windows of the top floor as an exquisite Jessica Chastain, her long, fiery red hair falling down her back, sat in front of them. Chastain arrived at Pearson International airport earlier in the day with her three-legged dog Chaplin.
[TORONTO – If there's one consensus opinion here at the International Film Festival, it's that 12 Years a Slave has a lock on major Oscar nominations.
But co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, who won acclaim for 2006's Children of Men, and Michael Fassbender, who has collaborated with director Steve McQueen on Hunger and Shame, hope audiences aren't affected by the hype.
Fassbender calls the praise from critics "icing on the cake. But the cake is the cake." Ejiofor nods, adding that it's a bit early for that talk.
"I love the film," says Ejiofor, who plays Solomon Northup, a free black man kidnapped in 1841 and sold into slavery in the South. "I think it's a really strong piece of work. But I also want people to come to it without all the buzz and the hype and this and that. It's a story of a man going through an extraordinary circumstance. And I do feel it needs to be engaged with in its own quiet, reflective way."
Fassbender, who plays a psychotic cotton plantation owner, saw 12 Years (out in limited release Oct. 18) for the first time at last month's Telluride (Colo.) Film Festival. "I have a tradition of waiting until the last minute, sort of the premiere with Steve's stuff," he says, clad in track pants and a T-shirt Monday at the Shangri-La Hotel. "I really feel it's a masterwork. I just felt so proud to be a part of it."
The pair's dynamic is warm and respectful during a conversation that dives into themes of slavery, personhood and Solomon's descent into a world dominated by brute violence. Both have been booked back-to-back since arriving here, and they'll continue on to New York for more press.
Over coffee and tea, Ejiofor chuckles when Fassbender calls the festival experience relaxing. "I had a blast last night," Fassbender insists. A brotherly vibe takes over the table as they dissect the lighter moments in Fassbender's interviews. "You had a blast? A blast?" asks Ejiofor.
"Literally," says Fassbender with a grin.

Toronto: CAA Calls in Favor for '12 Years a Slave' Afterparty
The agency, which reps director Steve McQueen and stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender, arranged for a last-minute celebration at Bungalow 8.
The cast of 12 Years of Slave was so thrilled with the reaction to their screening on Friday night, they were looking for a place to let loose.
So CAA — which represents the film’s director, Steve McQueen, as well as stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender — called in a favor with Bungalow 8, whose festival pop-up didn’t officially kick o›ff until Saturday night, and a last-minute late-nighter was thrown together on the Thompson hotel rooftop.
McQueen reportedly requested tunes by Whitney Houston.
You have to share some remarkably intense scenes with Michael Fassbender. What was that experience like?
Michael is such an electrifying actor, you never know what he’s going to do next. So he forces you to be in the moment. Which is such a treasure. He’s such a nice person and we had a lot of fun making this film. I think we understood we were making history, doing something vital. So going on set was always joyful, despite how painful the things we had to do were. Michael and I would make nice before and after a scene. I called it that, “make nice.” Not necessarily say anything to each other, but just share a look or a moment to let each other know we were OK. I felt so safe his scene partner.
Now for the pretend sightings. He was staying on University Avenue. Very expensive $800.00 area unless you were working there (subjective) I doubt whether that was possible. I did banking for my job right nearby: one sees nothing even if one stand right near the hotel.
From an interview with Lupita Nyongo'o
The rooms/suite were $800.00 per night.
$800 per night? Do you get a naked Fassy in the bed for that money?
