So much food for thought. It seems I was wrong about the open-mindedness in Europe.
I had a convo with a friend of mine about it. She's originally from an African country, but grew up in Europe. She confirmed that within her African community black girls are still seen as gold diggers or looking for papers, if they hook up with a white man. They are also accused of trying to be 'white' and betraying their race. Not to mention the fact that when a black girl dates a white guy a lot more females will try to seduce her man, cause they think they stand a chance since he's obviously into black women.

However is a black man is dating a white woman he is saluted for it as in certain communities it is still seen as a proud accomplishment.

I find it harder to classify difference markers in terms around colour, black, white, brown, yellow etc, perhaps because even though I've had some schooling in the states, I don't come from that historical or cultural basis. imo one of the most interesting part about both big cities and certain jobs in the finance and cultural sector is that it is creating a group of people (generation/s?) who may work in many diff countries and also live around many diff cultures, therefore boundaries between cultures are becoming far more porous. And this may be actually slower to be translated into literature, art and film because the speed of economic and socio-cultural change is always more surprising+complicated than expected. So, if I see commentary, like around these two actors, in my mind I tend to replace terms like interracial with something more about mixed cultural relationship (as odd or awkward that semantic shift is). Eastern Europe has as much differences in culture as a Nordic part of the EU or the differences between Irish or German political history. In a personal way, after working in both the art and less so in the film world, projects come from many different places and you meet so many different people and so relationships most people all have their own interesting story - personal characteristics like a love of adventure, professional history - can have as much weight as other factors in connections between people.
Totally personal opinion (as I take off geek bifocals, tweed jacket and pipe) and I may change my mind tomorrow.

Today is a beautiful, sunny day and I'm meeting with my friends for coffee and then shopping. I' m planning to buy the rest of the films of Fassy and also Nicole's 'American Violet'. I haven't seen her performance other than Shame, so excited about it. Is there anyone who has seen it? Do you recommend?

Definitely recommend. I haven't seen Shame (anxiously waiting for my copy from Amazon when it is released) so I can't comment on her acting in the movie. However, in American Violet, as the lead in what I think was her first role, she was excellent.

I kind of like the fact he doesn't seem so focused on being stylish. Then again, it wouldn't matter to me what he is or isn't wearing. After all, we are talking about Michael Fassbender.
