As I was watching his acceptance speeches in IFTAS, Venice etc. I noticed that he needs to improve his giving acceptance speech skills. As his presence on screen is really strong, I reckon he can do better giving more memorable speeches as he will be doing lots of them in the near future as we all wish. Oscars, Golden Globes, Baftas, Sags seem all on in his future career, let's hope he finds a way to nail them.:graucho:

What I mean is like the one Hugh Laurie did in the GGs. This man knows how to be intelligent, funny and sexy at the same time.

Finally saw Dangerous Method yesterday:woohoo: - I thought it was a great film, Michael and Viggo are excellent in their acting is excellent and really draw you into their relationship and Michael's voice is f****ing sexy :faint: for me, Kiera Knightly was not my cup of tea, she started to annoy me half way through the film, her accent especially:tdown:
Locations, costumes and the cinematography are beautiful capturing the period so well - I found the ending quite sad:crybaby::crybaby:
Could easily watch it again!!!

Oh oh, look forward to seeing this (prob btleg so I tend to skim :-0). Cronenburg is always interesting.
(SPOILER)
Yeah ending is gonna kill me in terms of knowing what happens to her in history, kills me even to think about it.

One last thing and then I'll drop it...

Perhaps IMDb should introduce a celebrity worship scale http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-176674/Do-Celebrity-Worship-Syndrome.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_Worship_Syndrome#cite_note-Maltby-4, those who score above a certain point are denied membership... of course this would eliminate a sizable chunk of IMDB users.

Thanks!
Duh! First time I've heard about CWSyndrome...somewhere there might be a conversation about the similarities/differences between male fans in international sports in comparison to(more female) celebrity fan syndrome. I think CWS might have a bit of a bad rap, yet its a culture industry and leads onto creative outlets however niche which is part of an industry which demands it commercially yet trivialises the arena, whereas sportsfanmania is institutionalised and seen as the norm.:noworry:
Or mebbe not!

Must be so hard at all those award shows and he seems so sweetly sincere, so points given! It's a be a bit of a game, so if he/teamfass wants to get nominations to things like the Oscars then perhaps he should get some speech writing help or training because its so political in Hollyweird.

Hugh's brilliant, LOVE a smart man!

Indeed! The eating-in-films hasn't yet reached Pitt-esque levels of regularity ... still, there's something weirdly compelling about watching him munch on a piece of toast in Fish Tank (must be the disarming stare!). And just like that, I've probably scored a point or two on that CWS scale .

Okay, so sometimes Imdb is good for something. Take a look at the current threads. Someone has a subscription to an online news service & found an article that says that due to the extreme nature of the injuries Leasi Andrews alleged that Michael caused, even though the petition for the restraining order w was withdrawn, the LA County prosecutor STILL investigated the case & dismissed it due to lack of evidence. Two witnesses were interviewed and Michael gave something called an ICO.8 statement.

This is enough for me. Some people might say he could still be an abuser, but she was SO specific about the injuries, and in one case, the time, that it would be pretty easy to disprove. The film festival in July '09, for example, where he supposedly broke her nose. That's an extremely public event. Actors generally have escorts. No one noticed that her face was injured?

Eating toast...hot. Fish Tank was a good film and I think the Fassbender charm/performance served the script really well, eating toast while checking out pubescence...I saw this as code ;-)

This is a whole icky can of worms/nest of matryoshkas. Not sure about this whole issue and also the response from the public: I believe its not totally appropriate to comment on a actor's personal life to this degree. On the flip side the 'story' has elements of sex, violence, cultural difference obsession, dishonesty versus truth, media and pathology - that's like catnip! I mean its like a script waiting to happen. Trying to avoid it is like trying to avoid a damn good accident that happens in your backyard...wow thats hard to look away:cool:

In my strictly personal opinion, the allegations (or allegations of allegations) seem less than believable. Evidence, seemingly, could be easy to obtain which weakens the argument of abuse. But the main thrust of this , well, what would the actor be doing with someone who could allege something like that but there are so many levels and in the end it should be private at this point.

Am I the only one who really doesn't get the Tom Hardy fascination? I just don't get it. I'm open to persuasion, though. Jeremy Renner, on the other hand, can have me any way, any time, any place he wants with his little self. :graucho:

He has great lips and a good voice but other than that his general douchiness turns me off... in a big way.

You are not the only one...

And I really dislike his lips...

:D
