Speaking of biting him in the ***. Check out this headline from the Hollywood Reporter:
Berlin 2012: Hitting a Woman in ‘Haywire’ Didn’t Faze Michael Fassbender

Nice one, Mike! I'm sure the nutters on twitter have had a field day with this one.

This fan boy who's interviewing her is a total creep. What a weirdo. Have any of you seen the video where Gina has to weigh herself and she takes off her clothes behind towels but in front of all these fan boys? What a disgusting way to treat your fighters. I felt so sorry for her, considering how shy she is.

I could see her and Michael hitting it off, but it seems to me that she just finds him amusing.

they make guys do that too, if they can't make the weight. she would have known she might have to do that if she was over the limit.

Re: THR headline - it's peculiar that it'd be worthy of a headline (especially one that could have some sort of subtext for the nutters who are really reaching for it), especially since it revolves around an MMA fighter, not a damsel in distress. It's basically the same answer he said about getting naked for Shame, and for experimental projects he partakes in - like, why limit yourself for image's sake if the project is interesting.

New Project for Michael:

LONDON — Michael Fassbender and screenwriter Ronan Bennett are developing a feature film about the legendary Celtic warrior Cuchulain, with Fassbender set to play the leading role.

Cuchulain is the central character in the Ulster Cycle, an epic series of Old Irish legends that date from around the 8th century.

Set in the northern part of Ireland, the saga relates the story of the Ulaid tribe headed by King Conchobar, and particularly its conflict with the rival Connachta tribe led by Queen Mebh.

The most prominent figure in the legends is Conchobar’s nephew Cuchulain, who has semi-divine ancestry and superhuman fighting skills. In the most famous story, known as the Cattle Raid of Cooley, he is the only man capable of resisting the vast army sent by Medb to steal Conchobar’s prize white bull.

Both Fassbender and Bennett, whose writing credits include “Public Enemies” and the recent Channel 4 TV series “Top Boy,” come from Northern Ireland.

They have raised development finance for the Cuchulain project through their London-based production company Finn McCool Films.
This is terrific!!! :woohoo:I think its important to support and revitalise Irish historical culture and philosophy on an wider level. I think one of the reasons I like Fassbender, apart from the acting ability, good lucks, nice interviewing manner and, er, 'body' of work, is that he doesn't have that teflon Hollyood veneer. Its a lot to do with him Irish, I adore my Irish buddies, they're all so easy and fun to be around. Sure there is darkness but as a drinking and fun buddy, the Irish and Scottish (and Aussies/NZers!) are down with it in my book. Yes, I had a few cheap laughs at the expense of the gaelic abut the 'great battle of the white cow', but good work, keep it up Team Fass!!

Who has the link to the quotes about Lawrence Bender's skeazy Hollywood tricks. I thought I remembered reading something about him framing an actor he had a beef with. Something to do with drugs? I was discussing him with someone else and wondered if anyone remembered anything about this.

I also think it was very foolish of Fassbender to date the producer's ex girlfriend.

Quotes about Lawrence Bender from a the book Killer Instinct:

Quote:
In her book Killer Instinct, Jane Hamsher recalled meeting Bender for the first time. He gave her the creeps. "It had something to do with the color of his skin and the way his gaze sort of receded into some emotional abyss when he smiled or maybe it was the way his lips curled over his teeth when he spoke...a jackal." (pg. 58)

Hamsher writes that producers like Bender, who owe their career to their attachment to one star director (Tarantino), tend to be sneaky and protective.

Jane says: "My friend Vicky was doing publicity for Reservoir Dogs up at Sundance, and she said that when even Quentin did an interview, Lawrence threw a tantrum if he wasn't interviewed, too. It made her life hell because nobody wants to talk to the producer."

Don: "Roger Avary said he was like that on the set. Running around like he owned the place, telling the grips where to set up the C-stands and stff. They used to get rid of him by making him go order the takeout food." (pg. 94)
I don't know how reliable that book is but I've read less than complimentary things about the guy in other places...

Quote:
Sharon Waxman wrote in her book ‘Rebels on the Backlot’(2006) that “Once success started to arrive, Bender always made sure that his name was inextricably linked with Tarantino’s.” People’s 1st impressions of Bender at Sundance was “a barnacle attached to Quentin.”

Bender and Quentin apparently had been feuding prior to filming Inglorious Basterds. I don't think he's a guy to mess with. ""

Okay, I just copied that from Snow8 post on March 13th here...so its not hard to find about Lawrence Bender but is that what you are talking about, or not? I haven't read much about this or the books that this is referencing etc. I feel ambivalent in general about hollywood insider gossip, on one hand its all totally fabricated. On the other that nowadays over a long (years) period of time I think that collectively you can a fairish measure from modern media of a person/celeb by their amass of interviews, hearsay and choices.

I love this one where he's on Letterman, funny as! Its almost like he's blushing when he realises he thought Dave was just asking him amount nudity when it was a deeper question:blushing:

Again, he shoulda have been a contender! :btdh:Oscars WTF ?!, stilll annoyed about this. Just saw Moneyball, sorry Pitt fans, but while it was a fun movie with well crafted performances, that is sooooooo not on the same level of what Fass did in Shame.

Another week, another award.

Click on the link below to watch Michael accept the Kermode award for Best Actor. He won the award a couple of years ago for Hunger.

Hopefully the Top Gear episode will be up tomorrow. It was a fun watch. Especially seeing Michael's face after he got his lap time results was great.

It's up on you tube -

I think he was happier about his lap time than he was about any of his acting awards, it's super cute.

Thanks! Ooooh so looking forward to seeing Top Gear, but I watched Ryan Reynold's interview on youtube with Top Gear and that guy is a very very sharp wit. That was impressive, not sure if anything could live up to Ryan's time and also funny lines!!!!!!

Terrific, thanks!!:smile1:

Nervous but lovable, tee hee. Love that line " sweating more than a cornered nun", brilliant. Was distracted by the girl on his left though (self-conscious camera mugger much ;-).
Well, more bragging rights about his 'lap time'...:p

Schumacher ruled F1 after Senna died. I loved his driving, never liked David Coulthard.

I noticed that too. He was almost jumping for joy. He's never done that any any award show. ;)

Good job with the leather jacket and stubble, the rough bad boy look, think he's either got better at styling or has better help, yes yes its working!
