I am asking a question about this nickel bag. I love the style and I want a metallic and I am wondering if it is too silver? I know everyone here loves it so in a way this question sounds silly, but I had my heart on the Coach Metallic satchel or messenger in bronze but neither worked for me. I guess what I am saying is that I don't just want to look like I am carrying a big shiny silver bag. Can someone address this? Thank you. Thanks for this post. I was looking for some place that was talking about this color.

The Fallon is a great bag to get in the silver metallic because of the size. It is not a 'great big shiny silver bag". It is more of a medium size, and if your going with any metalliac , I agree that a smaller size is not so overwhelming. The Fallon is a perfect size for a silver metallic bag. I do have a large Tristan that is in silver metallic and sometimes it can a bit too much, depending what I am wearing. It dresses up a pair of jeans nicely, however.

They have a smaller size Fallon, than the OPs bag and I have one. It is the Fallon Cross body bag, and I just LOVE it! You would not believe the compliments I get every time I wear it. I do want the bigger one as well, with the handles. it is a GORGEOUS bag! Very practical and light weight and I love the outer zipper compartment for my cell phone. The Fallon is one of my favorite MK bags and I have quite a few MK styles. . I plan to get a Fallon just like the OP's bag, in turquoise very soon and it is on my list for sure!

THe first bag is my cross body Fallon. The second is the bigger one in turquoise that I plan to get soon! There is no doubt I will LOVE it! The Fallon is a great all around bag and super sharp looking, IMO. I say take the plunge! I think you will love it. I know I do!

Hi folks!

I saw this online before it was released in stores -- before I even bought my Hamilton, actually -- and asked my local Michael Kors store to call me immediately as soon as it came in...which they did, and I was a day late in calling back (I'm in the hellish process of grading exams towards the end of the school year) and it had already sold out!

Luckily, I went back the next day to check out the metallic hobo version that they had on hold for me, and I saw that they had gotten in (only) 2 more of the original Fallon satchel that I had wanted!

So...I got this last night. I've been wanting a metallic bag in that perfect shade of silver -- this one is called "nickel" -- and I loved it. Here's what held me back and made me walk around the mall for a bit, stewing....

....lots of people have accused Kors of copying Balenciaga w/this new Fallon style. The thing is, I actually HAVE an authentic Balenciaga hip crossbody and love it. It's beautiful. I love that brand. And while I admit that the Fallon seems similar in feel to the Balenciaga look....I still, well....love the metallic Michael Kors. It's the perfect shade of silver. It's pretty and it holds all my stuff and I just said, "scr-w it" and went back and bought it. And it was $398 plus tax, not nearly $2,000, and I wanted to treat myself to it because I had seen it on the website awhile back and wanted it then. And so I carried it to work today and I still love it and I'm wearing it with pride. I'm excited to do this reveal! So thank you. :D

I'm just curious re: your thoughts on this one. I'm interested in what people think -- not because I'm insecure about the bag itself, because I think it's really cool and pretty -- but because I wonder about people's thoughts regarding designers' being "inspired" by other designers, etc., etc., and I'm very interested in what people feel is "crossing the line." To me, this bag has enough qualities that make it its own bag....and again, the metallic color just sold me immediately. (Plus it's a crossbody!!)

Anyway, thanks so much for your thoughts and for letting me share my new Fallon!!!!
I think the silver Fallon is drop dead GORGEOUS!! I have the cross body version in silver Metallic and I just LOVE it! I could care less what else it may or may not look like. It is a great all around bag and super sharp looking. Since I already have the cross body Fallon in silver metallic, I plan to get the bigger one like yours in the turquoise / teal color as soon as I can a deal on one. I posted the pics above. in my last post. The Fallon is and has been one of my favorite MK bags for a couple years now and I never get tired of it. I wouldn't mind having one in black and silver either! lol! Enjoy your Fallon, it's GORGEOUS!!

Cinthia,
I LOVE your fallon bag! I would love to have one just like it. Thank you for posting this for my information. It really does help to talk things over and get another perspective. The turquoise bag is really gorgeous too. You have great taste. Thanks again!

Thank you! I just love pretty much all of MK genuine leather bags. His bags are so edgy. While many claim that the he is copying other designers, trust me, there are other designers that copying MK as well. His designs are fabulous and he has something for everyone! I am totally hooked on Michael Kors. I have no interest in even looking at anything else! lol!

Cinthia,
I have just now started looking at MK bags. For some reason I thought all of his bags were highly structured and I like a more easy flow in a bag. After seeing your nickel cross body in the medium I ordered one yesterday! I might need the large Fallon bag, actually but I know I can use the smaller one at times. I like to get a bag and stick with it so my things are always together and organized. Changing bags is a hassle for me so I hope I can come up with one that fits me perfectly.
Thank you again for your help. I appreciate the input.
Oh, and to address your thoughts about the copying.... I agree with what you said in the first post. There is nothing new under the sun! Everyone gets ideas from each other. It is impossible not to allow what we have seen to become a part of the things we create.

Exactly! Very well said. Congrats on getting the cross body Fallon. It really is a gorgeous bag. While MK does have many structured bags made of the saffianno leather, he has even more of the soft leather bags you prefer. I prefer the soft leather as well and I do not own any of the structured bags. All of mine are in the soft leather. He has a gazillion of them! You really have to check them out. Look on their website and on ebay. There are so many beautiful designs in the soft leather, I can't keep up with them all. There's very few I don't like because they are all so gorgeous! lol MK is a wonderful designer that has some very innovative, edgy designs and I get tired of all the 'critics'. I am sure Michael Kors is taking their criticism, all the way to to the bank! lol! Welcome to the wonderful world of Michael Kors, which I am certain will be your next addiction! lol !

LOL yes, taking the criticism all the way to the bank... cute...
I think I still want the large Fallon bag too. I like to have room to put my sweater in my bag. I am going to my dept. store and see if they have it so I can see it in person. I have been looking on Ebay and have seen many great bags. Keep me posted on any new bag and I will do the same.

I love this bag! Great photo. I tried to submit a photo and I was able to upload it but then didn't exactly know where to put it in my post so decided to use yours!
If you get a chance will you please measure the length (side to side) of this bag? One seller has it as 12.5 and another has it measuring at 14 ". I really love this bag. Any other commentary on it would be great as well. Neither seller accepts returns so I am trying to be sure! Thanks!

Cinthia,
What is your opinion on these 2 bags if I have to pick one? One is the nickel satchel like the turquoise you want to get later. The other one is called the hobo satchel and it has one strap.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...S5&_nkw=michael+kors+metallic+fallon&_sacat=0

this link should show both of them The first two are of one style and the third on is the one I called "hobo".

I just cannot decide which one I like best. In one way I like the hobo because of the way I think it would stay on my shoulder and would be simple to deal with. But the other one has a style that has a little more pizazz to me. Thanks!

Yes, I'm with you, I like the hobo. The hobo is quite a bit bigger too, so you can fit more stuff. I have had my eye on that Fallon hobo for a long time. Now you got me going again! Dang! lol! I love the other one too with the cross body strap, but if you really need a cross body strap, you can always add one to the hobo. I do it all the time. I buy these chain straps and they hook right onto the strap hardware. They only cost about 15.00! And they look great. The silver chain hanging down gives it a bit more bling. But I really don't use the cross body strap much. I say go for the hobo! Is a really SHARP bag! I don't see how the other one has more 'bizazze'?? They both have the same pretty silver buckles on them. That hobo has it it all, besides being a lot larger.Even has the same great outer pocket on it! Definitely the hobo! lol! The only reason I am getting the other one in teal / turquoise, is because of the color. I have not seen the hobo in the turquoise, but if I did, I would get it instead, in a heart beat!. I may get the hobo in black and silver one of these days. It meets every single one of my specs too! Has the silver hardware, outer packet on it. Is not too big or small and is in the soft leather. LOVE that bag ! Dang! Now you've got me looking again! lol!

Did you see this one in silver?? LOOK at the PRICE!!

I kind of thought that by showing you the photos it would get you going.... Well, there are two of them so let's do it! I think by the pizazz I meant the other one has a square look and a little more structure and the extra strap and that gives it more definition. But that's just my opinion. I am glad you are going more for the hobo because I know it is going to be a much easier bag to carry.
Your idea of adding a chain strap is a good idea! I appreciate having someone to run my ideas off of and get your opinion, Cinthia. Thanks for taking the time. I'll let you know when my bags arrive! I might order the hobo today. OH.. I checked the measurements and they look like they are close in size. You seem to have information that the hobo is larger. But, whatever, it's not that much difference and I am going to go with the hobo!
Oh yes, the price is great on this one! I love the deals on Ebay.

That is a lovely bag, looks so soft which is a change from the predominantly Saffiano leathers

I love the soft leathers too!

The measurements mean a lot when getting into the interior of the bag. Even just a couple of inches can make a huge difference.in the amount you can carry. I know the depth from front to back is at least 2 inches more. That is the difference between carrying a large or a small wallet, and being able to lie it flat in the bag, or only being able to stand it up straight.. If you could see them side by side, you would know what I mean. I sell MK on ebay and am very familiar with what a difference a couple of inches can make. Doesn't seem like much, but it really is. Yes, it is nice to have folks to bounce ideas off of each other. I love this purse forum and have made some great friends here. I am watching a black and silver Fallon hobo as we speak! lol! If they had it in turquoise, I would skip the other one all together. Please do post pics when your arrives!
