My new bleu roi metallic edge city just arrived! I purchased it from Cultstatus in Australia. The leather is beautiful and I love it but it's obvious that quality control is slipping at the Bal factory. Found bits of gum on the handles and a weird piece of stray leather on the side. Here are the pics:

Yes I am not a blue fan but when I saw this in the boutique, instantly it made me going inside the boutique

It's happened the same w/ my Town. I have that glue bits in-between the seams near the handle. It's easy to peel off though it made me wonder w/ the craftsmanship detail. The leather stray on ur pic looks worrying to me. Is it like an extra skin on top of the leather or an open cut on the leather?

Nice colour. It's noir isn't it? It looks like a bit silver greyish w/ the lightning. Gorgeous!

I had the same issue when I first received my black city in silver hadware. They were tiny bits of glue here and there, and I thought that the leather was damaged. But I soon realised that it was just leftover glue. It truly was weird.
Thanks SilverStCloud, I tried peeling off the glue as best I could - it was a nerve-wracking experience! Kept expecting to see white patches underneath. Luckily most of it came out well except for a patch I found on the back of the bag. I tried using some oil to gently rub it out and most of it came off but there's still some residue left. So annoying and not what I expected to have to do with a brand new bag!
However this does show the hardiness of the coated chèvre leather. My agneau bags would not have been able to take it.
Sakurai888, thanks for letting me know this is a common issue with the metal chèvre. The leather stray is just extra skin. I'll probably trim it off carefully.

Finally understand why you ladies love chevre so much - the leather is so thick and supple. Not sure how I can go back to agneau now!
Hi I just relieved the grey pearl town. Surprised that the leather is very different than the black. First one I got was the black and it has a coating/shiny costing this lighter one is more matte leather. If anyone has this color let me know if it shows dirt like the white/cream leathers because I'm not going to keep it if it's fragile

Miss Milk, can you tell me how the Gris Perle wears as far as getting dirty easily? Since it's a lighter color was concerned about that before I decide to keep it or return it.
