Picked up a minty Louis Vuitton Utah Canyon Weekender recently. This thing is built like a tank and has practical features that you just don't find in newer LV offerings. Super wide shoulder strap, a belt down function before you zip the bag closed to compress packed belongings, a wide-mouth zip opening for easy access, and discreet LV branding. Just the LV stamp at the lower right and LV signed hardware. Maiden voyage will be this month when I take it to Paris.

Is it a heavy bag? Been eyeing one too vs a keepall! Thanks!

Hello) Sorry for my English. I am a woman and would very happy if you can help me) I am going to buy a wallet for my husband. Choose between Marco and Amerigo. My husband often uses change for parking, so a change pocket is a must be. His old wallet contains almost everything - money and business cards and medical insurance and a bunch of documents, up to a driving license for boats or yachts. Although we do not have a yacht . His wallet is very voluminous. I Wrote about this in detail, because in addition to the wallet, I also think to buy a separate business card holder or pocket organizer? For example to put business cards separately, and not in a wallet. He always wears a wallet either in jeans or a jacket or in his hands wenn go from the car. He does not put it in his bag and in general he does not have bags. Only when at work - a large suitcase with documents. He's a lawyer. Do you think it will be convenient for him to carry both a wallet and a business card holder in his trouser pockets? Or are these few things like walletand business card holder comfortable only for those who have a bag? And it is enough for him to buy one purse? Just wanted to unload his wallet a little and remove some things from it and transfer to another thing.

And also when choosing Marco and Amerigo. Marco has a pocket for change with a button and it is voluminous on the sides, you can pull it . It seems to me that it will be convenient to run fingers there. And in Amerigo this pocket is with a zipper, and it is pulled only from one side. Who has Amerigo, is it convenient to get coin there?

Hope all LV’s club members are doing well. I appreciate if any members could share your thoughts on the soft trunk wallet (either in eclipse or taurillon). Thank you!

While I haven’t used wallets like that for a very very long time since I prefer slim wallets and card holders, I prefer the overall look of the first one, Marco. Not a big fan of zip and not a big fan of the clear id flap. Marco looks more sophisticated to me and a snap closure can be easily repaired than a zip I think. But it sounds like it really depends on function and overall size. If the Marco is enough I would prefer that one.

Personally I use something as small as a pocket organiser or a 3 card card holder from Hermes and have business cards in a separate card holder (like the lv champs élysées card case m65227). But that is because I rarely need both at the same time so I never really carry them together. The other thing is if you overstuff the coin pouch you could easily deform your wallet too since it is also being squashed in the pocket.

Strategically you could go for the Marco since it is cheaper and once you give it to him, you guys can then go in together to look at the Amerigo and add more money to get that one if he prefers that one, rather than having to deal with store credit - if you buy amerigo first but then prefer Marco.

I thought I really liked them - But I am not so sure now. There is a YouTube video on the monogram version. Linked below. Overall I don’t think canvas is a good material for this shape of bag/slg since it is soft and needs to bend often, especially near the middle of the zip. You could quickly lose the boxy structure depending on how well lined and reinforced the canvas is.

Have you seen them in person? I really want to get a taurillon piece from lv but also not sure if this is the right piece for me.

Thank you Starlights3. No, I haven’t seen them in person but I’m planning to ask my SA whether there are any pieces in the store for me to look at.

Thank you so much))) I also like more Marco) But old wallet with ID flap) So I still think. Other side I will also depend on what is available now.

I have the soft trunk wallet from the Clouds collection and it's a very pretty piece but it really doesn't hold much. You would need to be quite selective with what you bring out when carrying it. The good thing is that it's much more structured than the soft trunk so no wrinkling and creasing and the structure "collapsing" like I've witnessed on multiple soft trunks.

Thank you despair. Would you choose the eclipse or taurillon leather?

Honestly I would go for the eclipse in this case. Taurillon is lovely but I don't think it would be as structured over time in this construction and I think the price point is just a bit high for what this style holds.
Thanks again. The eclipse looks nicer and the taurillon leather doesn’t looks ‘as smooth’ from the photo.

Which should I choose for Christmas? Steamer messenger or soft trunk wallet?
