Merry Christmas averagejoe and to all Men’s LV Club members. This year for my Christmas present I’ve chosen the tapestry trunk messenger

Nice! I love all these new trunk-inspired bags. Still haven't purchased one yet because my money is going to Dior and YSL constantly now, but hopefully soon!

Merry Christmas!!!

Hello, I have been thinking of buying a keepall of the LV x Chapman collaboration. I think it is exquisite but I prefer something I can wear decades from now, something classic and timeless. Is this design something you would use years from now? Any downside to buying collabs such as this one?

If you want something timeless, then I suggest the current and permanent Keepalls like the Monogram Eclipse one. I went through a phase where I loved the season LV prints (Fragments and Kabuki namely), only to sell them all at a huge loss. I would have kept them if they were the permanent pieces, but being clearly identifiable by season, they looked dated after the season was over.

Yes that is it, the word dated is not something I would want to describe my collection of bags fast forward 20 years from now. Thanks for the advice. I guess the elephant, though it looks nice now, may not look nice later on? I read from another member that monogram eclipse may not be so durable as a Keepall? I do love the eclipse and I have a couple of LV bags, not keepall, that are eclipse.

I personally think the artist collaborations with LV have aged well. I still love when I see someone carrying a Stephen Sprouse, Richard Prince or Murakami bag on the street. I think these artist collabs are different from the street brands or in house seasonal designs and stand on their own artistic merit.

I wouldn’t probably get it as my only Keepall, but as part of a larger collection I love the bag. Attaching an image of my Chapman Keepall that I still love.

Here is my Keepall 45 Macassar  that I travel a lot with.
