Most of what LV offers is impractical.
The bags have actually been quite practical up until Virgil Abloh came along. Kim Jones had great bags that were very practical. They were expensive, yes, but still very much bags that were very usable. Expensive doesn't mean impractical. They didn't have stupid plastic chains on them for no reason nor did they have felt that would rub off and get dirty easily. They also were not made of material that would melt in the sun. The shapes were also much more body friendly than these geometric blocks that jut out oddly from the body that Virgil Abloh is so fond of.

They were way more practical than this ****. I'd actually say that most Louis Vuitton bags are rather practical, if expensive. That's why bags like the Neverfull, Keepall, and Speedy are such classics and so popular. They're very usable--and they're the bulk (or "most") of what LV makes. The practicality and usability of LV's bags is why my family has LVs that are decades old and that have been used to hell and back--and we're not the only ones who have bags that are 40 years old or older. Kim Jones was always very mindful of the brand's travel heritage, and he made travel bags that could actually withstand travel and be used comfortably. Virgil Abloh makes bags for people whose primary concern is posing.

You said everything I wanted to say and then some...

The reason I threw that line out there is because I see too much cross-referencing to the same 'solution to the problem'. I'm seeing pouches for 3-4 different products, with minor styling differences, for different products (all part #'s, not retail). I think the lines need to be refocused and condensed. I don't like the triangular and body curving Keepall bags, I think they look tacky. But if it brings the LVMH mothership money than who are we. Let's keep in mind America isn't their only market. Maybe people in China, Europe, and the UAE like this stuff.

Can’t speak for others but can at least speak for myself. Outside of this and another bag, I have stayed away from Abloh. It’s the color combo and look that drew me to this bag. Don’t care for anyone posing or wanting to pose with it.

I have a ton of friends who aren’t on Instagram that absolutely love his stuff. I personally find some nice to look at and that’s it. I still don’t get the hype on the plastic prism crap and I am definitely not about the curved bags for FW.

I also don't like any of the VA designs, but please don't let what people on here think turn you off any purchases you like. :) We're all different and have different tastes and that is fine. There's room for everyone on here, even fans of VA designs. :flowers::flowers:

Amen! I'm among the few that actually like some of his team's designs. I find them very interesting. I don't own a single piece because Dior (my first love), Gucci, and Saint Laurent keep pulling me away. I love the Soft Trunk bag. The new briefcase that looks like a trunk that someone posted here recently is one of the nicest men's LV bags I've seen.

I know we aren’t the biggest fan of VA but just had to get this bag because of the color combo. Fell in love with the shape and look. Happy My SA was able to snag one.

I think this bag is really unique! I assume you are getting this instead of the Rimowa personal clutch that you posted on the Dior forum (they have the same price point). If so, what made you decide against the Rimowa?

I think both this and the Rimowa are really unique small men's bags.
