I have loved LV briefcases for are .the designs were so beautiful and yet businesslike. Even under kim Jones, there were over 60 briefcases in the range and he created many. In my opinion, virgil abloh is not even a designer. He is a great self promoter who knows how to read trends and monetize them the clothing is atrocious, and the only new bags designed are backpacks and small man purses. If you contrast him with the brilliance of LV womans designer Nicholas Ghesquire, there is just no comparison. Mr Ghesquire still uses the traditional LV locks in many purses and his designs are tasteful and elegant .The designs of Mr Abloh are geared for an urban streetwear consumer who wants $900 logoed sneakers and gaudy accoutrements to accompany them. LV has made it clear they do not want an older or more traditionally styled male consumer. It's a shame because the work of Mr Ghesquire is a testimony to how you can make beautiful things but do it in a tasteful and elegant fashion What a dichotomy between these two designers. It's unfortunate that a company with such a storied legacy, that has made custom trunks for the world's most famous people, sees a need to produce $900 sneakers and trashy logoed backpacks to make a profit
