My problem is not the concept of streetwear. My problem is the concept of LV as streetwear
Well...too bad.

LV makes streetwear and has been making streetwear for a while now. Lux streetwear is obviously part of corporate's current vision for the men's line if they hired Kim Jones and then Virgil Abloh. Furthermore, the street crowd will appropriate LV into their wardrobes if they want, regardless of who disapproves.

Opinion on the Marc Jacobs era? Seems pretty stagnant to me looking back.
It wasn't stagnant, but he was around for a long time. LV is or was continuing some aspects that he initiated, such as collabs with artists and designers. His multicolor monogram is more recognizable than anything Nicolas created and will create most likely. But it was a very different time in the fashion industry. I think Marc had more artistic freedom in the beginning especially and the corporate aspect was different, less stuff being churned out left and right and the materials were higher quality for the price even accounting for inflation. So there was more freedom for a creative director as a whole. That has changed a lot. There's new stuff being released all the time now catering to a much wider clientele. That awful Koons collab was as an example the work the Arnault family not Nicolas. I also think it's pretty obvious how Kim's work at Dior is more consistent and with a unified vision compared to his work as LV, whether you prefer one over the other.
Personally I prefer MJs work for LV to any of the mote recent designers', but at the same time so much has changed in fashion and in business it wouldn't be the same.

As you said, it’s such a different company today. It’s hard to compare to the late 90s LV.

Btw, yours look way better then the press shots. On those they used the less prestigious parts of the crocodile skin, where those smaller side scales are. Yours is perfection.
