I just received an invitation to a Christmas LV event at my local store. I have got those invitations before also, but I've never bother to go there. This year I think I will pay them a visit. On the invitation it's written "RSVP" and a email adress. Do someone know what that mean? Do I have to bring the invitation, or can I just tell my name in the door?
-Whats going on at these events? Just drinks and canapes? (I don't drink)

Cool where is this?
I'd love to go to one of these events.

RSVP means that they want you to send an email or call them confirming that you're attending the event so that your name will be included on the guest list and they will be expecting your arrival.

You can come at anytime during the time stated in the invitation. You can stay for as little as 10 minutes or during the entire duration of the event, most store parties are very casual. No need to dress up, but if you want you can. It's basically a private shopping experience where drinks and small bites will be offered and you can have one on one with your SA or just mingle around without the interference of other patrons during normal business hours. It's basically a way for them to say "You are a (potential) frequent customer, here's an exclusive party invite that will make you will feel special and maybe this will guilt you into buying more from us"

Sometimes bigger stores will have parties hosted by magazines, fashion insiders or a preview or launch of new collection. That can be a bit more formal and the invite can get even more exclusive, usually based on how much you spent.
Thanks for the detailed info! Is it possible to buy any items on these events?

I would still have to agree with niveK. I personally like the multicolore but have never pulled the trigger to buy any pieces because they do lean towards being feminine. And I don't generally subscribe to that mentality all too much, personally wearing fragrances and buying bags that have been geared to women (ie, I own a Givenchy Pandora bag, although the largest size and in black). It sounds like you really want to like it and be appreciative of your friend's gift, so why not give it a try since you've put in a lot of effort! But I get the inkling that you're asking because you aren't all that comfortable, and if you're not confident while you're rocking it, it'll show. I wish I had a little bit more of a "don't give a F" attitude, but I'm afraid we all have a little bit of self consciousness.
