No experience, but I looked at some Tom Ford bags at Selfridges today. They were absolutely amazing! The leather was soft as butter, and the huge rough zipper on these bags really makes them stand out.

Thanks for the feedback Dorf. And I agree, the look and feel speaks of high quality and those zippers are amazing. I believe they're actually aluminium (for weight) with palladium finish but I'd like to confirm this before dropping $5k. Thanks again!

Realise this is not strictly the right forum but I could think of no better group of men (and women!) to ask:

Does anyone have any experience with Tom Ford bags? I'm lusting after a black leather large briefcase with silver hardware but can find scant information or details regarding manufacture or quality...thanks in advance [emoji3]
Tom Ford bags are gorgeous. Definitely on the pricy side... and, unfortunately, not a lot of style choices. But the quality seems to be very good.

I LOVE anything and everything Tom Ford! I don't have a bag from the brand ((too broke)) but I see them in store often and the quality is exceptional! Very beautiful and good quality. You won't regret purchasing one. I'm in love with the Buckley backpack and the Buckley duffle bag too.

Thanks fab. They are pricy...and heavy due to all that leather. My PDV GM is feather weight by comparison.

On another note, regards wear of LV canvas: I've just noticed the very tiniest amount of rubbing on the bottom corners of my PDV GM. Looks like the print has worn off leaving just black. Disappointing but since these corners take the brunt of the contact when I put the bag down I'm not surprised.

What I wanted to know is whether the coated canvas itself will remain intact (ie not wear through and make a hole) for a decent timeframe under normal usage?

I don't mind if the pattern (damier graphite in my case) rubs off in a couple of small places but keen to understand whether this means the fabric itself is on the way to wearing out.

What's been your (and Dorf and others') experience?

Ps. I use the bag as a daily briefcase and place it on the ground regularly but don't drag or otherwise mistreat it.

It's very difficult to rip a hole through the canvas. Don't worry about that!
As you mention, the corners do rub off a little with use, but it's usually hardly noticeable. If the leather pipping wears down too much, LV can redo the pipping. I have my macassar PDV in for a replacement of the pipping right now. I had used it pretty roughly for a few years. I don't baby my bags at all!

(Chanel wallet but just wanted to add it to my wallet rotation).** I was very surprised to see made in Spain on Chanel. I wasn't excepting it but know it's more common now. I didn't even think about made in with Chanel. I know a lot of debates out there, but made in France is whAt makes my bags feel special. I have a few made in Spain's but that was because I noticed it after the fact. Spain is fine not preferred but still won't disqualify it. USA made I have zero interest in. Thanks for reading my tangent lol**.

Hi all, I'm pretty new here and must say since joining my inventory has expanded a little :)

I have had a love affair with LV in the past and then went back to prada and then over to balenciaga, now back to LV and a little Chanel.
These are my LV items, I don't mind adding some female accessories to my game either. I'm in the market for one more thing: a travel bag and am considering the keep all 55 with strap. But if I needed an LV must in any category, what would you recommend?
