Who cares if a guy carries a bag!!! Everyone is quick to want to be left alone and not judged on who they are, but are quick to judge what someone else needs to be doing. Let people live their lives, as a society we are stuck in this feminine/masculine mind set. Its a bit ridiculous! I mean really, can a man carry his crap in something too???? With that said, i do agree that there are handbags specifically targeted at females, but if a guy feels inclined to throw it over his shoulder, then its his business. My uncle carries a Birkin as his briefcase, and sometimes uses it as a carryall to go to the beach or when he travels abroad.
Here in Tokyo, you can see many men carrying handbags but not really like bryanboy. MOst carry men's bags in safe colors. You won't find a Japanese man carrying a Chanel 2.55 like what bryanboy did!!
Two days ago, I saw a guy in his business suit carrying a large kelly. The other time, I saw a guy in formal jacket with T-shirt & jeans & high-cut sneakers carrying a 45cm birkin with a strap attached to the sides across his chest like a sling bag. Both looks dashing!!
Anyway, I don't mind dating a guy carrying a bag but the bag must be something large either hand-carry or a sling bag in safe colors. Only for work but not dinners.
To all the guys here on this forum, there is a new men's bag coming for fall/winter. It's the LV ostrich patchwork bag. I saw one a sample at the LV store here in Ginza but but unfortuately, it's limited edition.
THe LV Ostrich patchwork bag is made in ostrich skin with the damier pattern. You've to waitlist for one. I've waitlisted one for myself!! I'm going to use it as a luggage bag.
