Memory Lane: What was your first Coach?

My first Coach bag was a black Signature Poppy Jazzy Hobo with silver hardware...I paid full price for it at Dillards, and carried it every single day for probably the next three solid years. I loved everything about that bag. I sold it several years back, and regretted it, so I recently bought another one in a different color, but sadly it's now too small for the things I carry.

My first Coach purchase included 2 purses at an outlet in Hawaii while on vacation! I can’t remember when that was, early to mid-2000s I believe.

I used them for special occasions.

I remember borrowing my mom’s Sheridan Glenwood when I was in college! She still has it and I recently conditioned it for her. It was her first Coach.

Don’t know why that ended up sideways! The brown purse was bought on the same trip where I bought my first Coach purses.

IMG_5066.JPG IMG_5064.JPG I purchased my first Coach in the outlet at Penn's Purchase in Lahaska, PA. The SA who helped me still works there. I carried it for about a year--that is what I always did with my other bags from Bass, Etienne Aigner and other typical middle of the road bags. This bag, unlike the others, never showed a mark and still looks brand new. It's style 9166 drawstring purse. I have no idea of what it was originally called.

Do you live in the Lahaska area? I used to live in the Lehigh Valley and would go to Peddler's Village from time to time- including those outlets across the road. I love Bucks County.

I used to go to the mall to visit a children's clothing store and always passed the Coach store when I walked through. One day I decided to go in and this is my first Coach bag, the Sophia in smooth black leather. I still have this handbag and it's my favourite to take out for lunch or a day of shopping. The handle drop is perfect. The lining is red and so beautiful every time I unzip my bag.

What a great first Coach! I’ve actually been looking at preloved Sophias haha I always wanted one back in the day :)

As a gift? Or does it have to have been one I picked out myself?
That would make it either bottle green Pocket Purse , or rose patent Zoe. I still love them both. Love all my bags. And I look forward to carrying both of these again, once I go farther than my mailbox.

I hear ya about the mailbox! Our bags are getting restless in their closets! Great bags --wow, the green Pocket Purse is adorable!

Such fab bags! They even look gorgeous sideways! :giggle::tup:

My first Coach was a red City Bag Spectator bought from Marshall Field's with my 1989 or 1990 Christmas bonus check. I'd walked past their Coach counter often but nothing had ever reached out and grabbed me until I saw RED, and I was hooked. Wish I still had it, but it was eventually replaced in my affections by a Sheridan Glenwood in the same color combination. (The picture was found online since the actual bag was donated locally about 15 years ago )

Yes, I have a Thing about red Coaches.
