Meltonian Leather Cream

Nothing major, but I felt like each time I used it (not close together and not a whole lot of it - small amounts) rather than nourishing the bag, it seemed to draw out the black die leaving it a faded black/dark brown. Not noticeable at all in dim lighting, but if under bright lights/day light then it definitely bothers me a bit. Also think a bit of UV damage which may be why the leather looks a little dry on top. Back side of the bag is perfect though! Shame its not the other way around! This is why I want to add some colour and shine back into it :). Have you used the bag yet? - Any colour transfer on clothing?

I have'nt tried my bag yet but I did rub my hands all over my bag to see what happens... no color transfer as yet :)
But I did use on the corner of my vintage maxi.. no color transfer so far on my clothes or jeans or furniture...
I am thinking of trying white leather cream to restore white lambskin...
anyone have tried that before? :D

Good to know hopefully it doesn't! I will post on this thread when I receive my products and give them a go!

Used my bag today...
no color transfer so far.... but didn't wear anything white though....
Lovin' how my vintage jumbo is right..... Such a SWEEEETTTTTTT bag ;)

How do you apply on the cream? Do you apply it with your fingers or what type of cloth?

I use a cotton t-shirt cut up into squares, dip it into the jar to get a little bit on the cloth, then use the cloth on the bag. It doesn't take much, and one of those tiny jars will last a long time.

I don't have the lotion, but it would be the same way; apply to a clean cloth, then use on the bag.

Just like tutushopper mentioned... I use a clean towel like hankerchief to apply the product to the bag.... and just buff gently.... until satisfied....
But what I did after the colour was unified, a day or two later I rebuff with Cadillac Lotion to give a bit of lustre to the leather (+kiwi express shine)... since I notice leather cream tends to give a matt finish.... I like a bit of shine but it won't be oily or anything :p

I usually buff the meltonian delicate cream with another fresh cloth for the sheen, but have just ordered the Cadillac lotion (to have for cleaning purposes as well), so I will see what difference that makes. The things I have treated with the delicate still have a lovely sheen, so I don't really need to add more. Maybe it's the buffing that I do; who knows. The kiwi express shine, what is in that?

I think I got different result because I did not use my meltonian but Woly leather cream instead...so most likely your buffing technique and meltonian gave the sheen on your bag :) I'll definately try meltonian soon ;)
The Kiwi Shine is the stuff I use to buff the bag... it's the one that has built in shine all and sponge together.... So you just take off the cap and buff the leather away! i like Kiwi brand the most :)

So the Kiwi has color in it? I see the color is black. I've never used Kiwi on a bag before, so I have no idea what's in it.

Yeah, this one is black color... I'm not sure if they have neutral since I can't find it.... When I first use it on the bag, it will give the leather quite a shine but it will be absorb by the leather with no issues of oiliness :smile1: mainly I use it on my vintage black lambskin.

Hi guys. I just ordered the meltonian cream for my white caviar jumbo... It's brand new, but want the cream just in case. Have any of you had color transfer when wearing silk? I have a blue silk dress... (100% silk), wondering if color will transfer on my white bag? All feedback really appreciated. Tia

Hi all! So I have tried the meltonian leather cream in no 2 Noir (black) on my vintage lambskin jumbo (smaller CC clasp) and thought a few of you might be interested in the results!

Uploaded a before and after photo - hopefully you can tell which is which! As another user said, I just took a bit of the cream on a clean soft cloth, lightly buffed the product in and after a few minutes it was dry so I lightly buffed again but with a clean part of the cloth and it gives a lovely shine. My experience was so much better with the black than the delicate cream (which did nothing for me - if not just remove some of the original bag colour and fade it out!). Let me know what you think - photos were taken in as harsh lighting as I could find at the time - which says a lot for how good this product is! Keep in mind, the bag originally looked great in dark indoor lighting, but outdoors/in a bright sunny room it definitely did not look as rich in colour as it should have. Wrinkles etc that come with age are still present on the bag, but I much prefer how they look now.

Please note this is just my experience - each bag is different. Also no colour transfer :) Needless to say I'm very pleased! If you have any questions feel free to ask!
