Meet My Badlands Satchel!

That's actually quite beautiful and I agree with you about certain bags and putting up with "minor inconveniences"....because some bags are just worth it for the way they make us feel when we're carrying them, right?
I have a chocolate brown Bayswater that is so beautiful but a much larger bag (and heavier!) than I normally carry. I justify it because I never see another one where I live, it's gorgeous, and because I don't normally carry much stuff with me it doesn't get ridiculously heavy.
The plus is that I can also wear it on my shoulder if need be too. Certain bags are just worth it!!

Congrats on your beautiful purchase!

Absolutely! Thx for sharing that -- Yup, this bag IS worth it !

Now I'm going to Google Bayswater -- never heard of it, I'm only with Coach for about four years.

HAHA, I just saw that Mulberry is a Premier Designer on here -- will check out the Mulberry website too -- it looks like they've got GREAT colors! Honestly, I had only known about Burberry, not Mulberry -- I hope I don't develop any NEW designer addictions, lol!!

Yes, Mulberry is a British brand and has some lovely bags. I love the older Bayswaters. Coach is coming out with some beautiful bags lately and you snagged one of them.....good for you, enjoy it!

Just curious if this bag has softened up any with use? I keep adding it to my shopping cart but not pulling the trigger. It's so gorgeous but I'm afraid I wouldn't have the patience to deal with the opening.

Sorry, I haven't worn it yet -- it doesn't fit in with some upcoming holiday plans -- I'm getting ready to debut my Felix Rogue and sometimes I don't carry new bags for months after purchasing -- having said that, I will give you my honest opinion that this Satchel will probably NOT soften up...that's my gut feeling.

I wish I could have been more helpful, but if you are THAT concerned about the opening, I would suggest you pass on getting it -- I'm guessing it's in your cart because you like its overall appearance? If trying it on in person is not an option for you, maybe you should hold off. I'll be happy to report back once I've worn it, but it could be a few weeks.

Enjoy your holidays!

Thanks for the info. I lovvvve the color and style but my boutique doesn't carry it and none of the SAs have seen the style in person to give me their input. I don't go out daily but will make trips to the grocery store or the mall so just need access to my cell phone and wallet typically. I know it wouldn't be a bag I'd carry with my young kids but would solely be used as a "me" bag. I'm a SAHM who homeschools so I like at least 1 trip out of the house a week completely solo for my sanity lol.

I finally went on the Coach website and saw the black and red version! So pretty!!

The red IS beautiful too! They only show one photo of the purple one and for the red one they have multiple angles and pics -- I find their website pretty lame -- no excuse to not show EVERY color of every style, with all possible angles or poses -- especially if you're interested in one with less pics. The actual photographers ARE very skilled, but maybe it's too cost prohibitive to shoot everything they sell.

Now that you mention that it wouldn't get heavy duty use and just be your "me" bag, you may want to consider the markdown, saving $250 off the original price. See, this is how my mind works and keeps me in my collecting/hoarding pattern, haha!

It truly is a stunning piece of art -- I hope you end up with it so that we can chat about it on here.

I have the tea rose dinky 24 in the same purple and grey arriving Monday. If I find it too small I'm going to send it back and order the purple badlands satchel. I really love the color combo but held off hoping for a discount because I've bought way too many 1941 items this year at full price.

This is a gorgeous bag, love the color combination! I don't know how I missed the reveal of this post....but thank you for taking such nice pictures of it. I agree about Coach not posting enough pictures of items, we need to see these things darn it!! [emoji23] enjoy your new beauty!

Thx, Hobbsy!

Ok, so, you could leave the belt part of this bag unbuckled and just zip and unzip the bag to get into it, right?

I'm not sure I get what you're asking -- do you mean literally keeping it unbuckled? It would look real sloppy to do that. You could still pull back the belt part that sits above the zipper and unzip the opening for access to the inside, while leaving the belt buckled, but it WILL be a bit annoying each time you do it, because that, upper belt part is stiff, so you have to force your hand into the bag and avoid having the zipper scratch you -- does that answer your question?
