I had a very productive visit this week to my local Coach store, haha! This stunningIMG_3660.JPG IMG_3664.JPG IMG_3666.JPG Badlands Satchel was marked down from $795 to $559!! (Winter sale). She's very roomy! And of course since I just saved $250 on THIS bag, I just HAD to buy the way overpriced but Gawjus Felix Bag Charm, which I'll post separately.

Here is my new daughter in Purple and Gray -- pls excuse the not great lighting and unfolded laundry surrounding everything . I had the hangtag monogrammed with my initials, in pink -- my first Coach monogram! Can't wait to take her outside....Felix Rogue has also not been out yet, lol. Hope you like her!

Congrats K.E.W. Like everyone has said the color combination is great. How do you feel about the opening? More pictures please.

Thanks all for your helpful comments!

I did finally take some interior pics -- it was not easy, as this bag is a little stiff so I had to maneuver my iPhone camera into the cylindrical silhouette for best lighting (still not the greatest). i want you guys to know that opening the zippered closure will take some getting used to. This is NOT a bag that will be convenient to use IF you need constant access to the inside of your purse throughout the entire day. In other words, if you're going to be in and out of that bag several times an hour, it'll drive you nuts. I feel like I'm posting a tutorial below to maximize accessing the bag as easily as possible, haha! I don't know why people say that I "micromanage" a bit much...heh heh.

The reason it's a challenge is hopefully depicted by the order in which I posted the step by step process to open the closure. In the first two pics you can see how the non functioning but decorative belt is buckled over the zippered enclosure underneath. Then I'm showing you how that prop belt has to be opened on either end by unstrapping the belt buckle. Once it's unstrapped you can fold back the entire belt fixture and now unzip the entire zippered closure (there's a zipper pull on both ends, so they can meet in the center, if you'd like.)

The next step is to fill your bag with all the contents you'll need for the day. Once it's filled, you can zip up the closure and then strap the belt buckle over it again. Now, to clarify, it won't be necessary to go through all this each time you have to access your bag -- you can just pull back the belt fixture, which will give you access to the zippered closure -- BUT, because the closure does not "give" and is a bit stiff, you will not want to access the interior too often. There is nothing wrong with how the zippered closure moves, but it's not that "soft as buttah" smooth zippering.

Having said all that, the beautiful aesthetics of this bag overrides any inconveniences -- she will be "high maintenance" but a real stunner! Also, the glovetanned leather is smooooooth, but not soft...I'll have to be careful with scratches.

I hope you can see the beautiful purple interior with the Cashin kisslock purse on one side and a zippered interior pocket on the other side. Plus there's anothered zippered pocket on the front door exterior. I added the new red Steggy hangtag to the monogrammed one, in the last photo. That hangtag has a little purple on the dino.

I didn't show much of the long, adjustable and detachable shoulder strap that even has a sliding shoulder pad on it for less shoulder discomfort.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

** SORRY THAT I KEEP POSTING DUPLICATES -- AFTER I SEND IT THE FIRST TIME IT DOESNT APPEAR, SO WHEN I TRY AGAIN MULTIPLE POSTS APPEAR, LOL. **

Thank you for the pic and the review! It's a great looking bag! I couldn't see how it opened but now that I have, I do think I personally would find it quite annoying to use. I am surprised to see a kiss lock pocket inside since nothing outside even hints to anything vintage IMO. Maybe the strap attachment shape.. but I maybe reaching. Lol.

Hmm, thats an interesting perspective you have about the combo of a vintage kiss lock purse inside of a more modern bag -- kind of a hybrid....good observation! For MY taste, the aesthetics of this bag overrides what will be a minor inconvenience because I won't be carrying it on a "heavy use" day. Same thing with my full size Nomad bag I got last year -- too stiff for hourly (or half-hourly) access to opening the bag. I tend to swap out several purses throughout the week -- depending on my mood or needs for that day. I'm retired now, so I have the time to be a bit more "playful" and maybe not be as concerned about practicality.

That's actually quite beautiful and I agree with you about certain bags and putting up with "minor inconveniences"....because some bags are just worth it for the way they make us feel when we're carrying them, right?
I have a chocolate brown Bayswater that is so beautiful but a much larger bag (and heavier!) than I normally carry. I justify it because I never see another one where I live, it's gorgeous, and because I don't normally carry much stuff with me it doesn't get ridiculously heavy.
The plus is that I can also wear it on my shoulder if need be too. Certain bags are just worth it!!

Congrats on your beautiful purchase!
