I'm so tempted for the plum but…
Does it have a closure or is the top open? An open the top is (almost) a deal killer, unfortunately.

(Gorgeous bag! Wonderful color red, and the side view is completely elegant right along with the front and back. And those tulips too ... )

The top is open. When you carry it by the hand-straps, of course, the top is secure.

Thanks! It was nice of Mother Nature to have those red tulips available to me today! :sunshine:

Hi there, question for the thread: Is "Bordeaux" the same colour as the Fall/Winter 2016 Plum?

I just bought this New with Tags off Tradesy and the colour seems different from what's depicted on the Max Mara website. It's very similar, but a bit more dull maroon and says "Bordeaux" on the tag instead of the deep violet it appears to be on https://us.maxmara.com/p-4516156706054-whit3xs-plum

Item number (Modello): 45163557 whereas the Plum one on the MM website is 4516156706054

I think I just answered my own question. But will post mod shots tomorrow to decide if I still like it or not.

The leather feels really luxe and smooth yet hardy, and it's just so easy to carry around and I don't worry about it the way I do about my other premium bags (one is white, one is lambskin).

But maybe I should, because the one I bought NWT off Tradesy had a few fingernail dents and scratches that could not be buffed out, and even the Plum one I just bought from the Max Mara store had one tiny surface scratch that the SA could not buff out either. So I wouldn't be surprised if it did accumulate more scratches later, but for now it looks perfect to me and I love it!

I can post a pic of the wear on my bag a few months in.

I just bought the large in black while I was in Italy. I actually used it as my personal item from Milan to Rome and then later from Rome to the US. It was stuffed with items yet still lightweight. Very functional and usable.

And as others have mentioned it's extremely well designed and crafted. Plus the leather is scrumptious. It has a rich sheen and feels great. It's a perfect daily work bag and I can see how people would enjoy it's restrained elegance for every day.
