I think the classic classic coat is the 101801 Madame coat. I have the Manuela coat but the 101801 coat is on my wishlist.

I'm not surprised it's coming back. The Teddy is one of their three icon coat designs, with the Manuela and 101801 Madame coat. It's so cuddly and cosy looking, if only I had unlimited money and I can get one of these haha.
I just sold a Chanel bag and was thinking of getting the 101801 coat with the money but I need to stay strong and save up a bit more so I can put the money towards more Van Cleel and Arpels jewelry.
Hi there! Can you comment on the quality of the Teddy? I asked a friend, who bought it last year, about hers and she said that she wouldn't buy another because the quality was not good. I really want one but was surprised to hear that and have held off since then.
I started out a few years ago with a Brunello Cucinelli teddy at a similar price. Returned it and bought a MaxMara. Haven't looked back. Don't care if it's trendy or not, at my age, I just want cozy and warm.

It looks bad after getting wet but you can gently dry the fibers and brush them, then it’ll be ok and smooth again. Brushing is really key! I don’t wear mine in rain ever, after i realized that issue. The classic camel one is made of camel wool and silk, the other of alpaca, virgin wool and silk
The quality is really good, you wouldn’t buy another coat after owning a Max Mara. My favorite is the Icon Madame - the quality is the best, this coats never pill or crease. According the Teddy: I like the original camel style the most - it’s heavier and 88% camel wool and 12% silk. Will stand the Test of Time qualitywise.
This! Agree with all the above. Quality of my Teddy is outstanding, in fact all the Max Mara coats I have are top notch. Also love the original Max Mara teddy the best of all the teddys.

Last autumn bought classic teddy in camel wool and silk, still love it. I had some tiny issues with quality(sewing threads, buttonhole was too big-i had to fix), but nothing major.
This year i admire the teddy in sand color)))
