I for one am a M A J O R fan of the up coming Giant Covered bags...I am dreaming (yet again) about a bag I don't even own yet - an Argent Giant Covered Work :cloud9:

Okay......only my opinion......I do not like the covered hardware on the regular hardware bags, along with what looks like 'painted' hardware metal rings, etc. It makes the bag look too flat and uninteresting. However, I LOVE the covered hardware and the perforated leather trim on the Giant City as they have maintained the silver metal rings that attach the shoulder strap, etc. I have the Sapphire with Giant Covered Hardware and it is sooo elegant. I only fell in love with it when I saw it in person. I am now waiting for my second covered Giant City in Amethyste.

I doubt its cheaper making the leather covered hardware though- its more work and more leather used. But I do feel you on Bal making some bad changes. The motorcycle is supposed to be their classic bag they do every season- but when they get cheap about the bags, up the price and repeat colors- I think I'd rather seek out the older bags. They better get it together because right now I'm not feeling Bal...like I'm getting over them quick because of the crap!

I like the look of silver hardware, but GSH is a little too big for me. So Pewter is quite perfect. It gives Bbags that really vintage-y look, too. Plus the leather on bags that have PH is pretty amazing.

ITA Jira! PH is my favorite EVER. I have some SGH, but it ain't the same. Not even close.

I totally agree!! I have already bought the Sapphire City with the perforated leather and covered hardware and it is just awesome! So elegant and classy. But I still like the RH with the tassels when I wanna look more casual and "rocker"! Lol! :woohoo: :okay:

Wow! Thanks for the pics imonpurseblog! I still think my preference is the Amethyste City with the perforated leather and covered giant hardware. It makes it more dressy I think. The regular city I prefer with the regular "uncovered" hardware Lol!

I'm finding for me that it depends totally on bag color and size as to whether I can like the covered HW or not. I like the giant covered HW with the perfs on the Pompom, maybe because of style. It's new, I have no expectations, and it seems to suit it. I like it on the larger bags I've seen, but I dislike it a lot on the city. Too much going on for me in too small a space.

I don't especially like the classic covered HW so far except on darker bags, like anthra and black, which are the dark colors I've seen. Sapphire might be nice, too. I haven't the faintest idea how it will hold up in the long run to wear and tear, but I thought it looked sort of chic and monochromatic, not cheap at all. I could see it on a black WE, for example. Anyway, lots of choices out there, and it all depends what each person likes.

Somebody already bought the Sapphire First. I thought it was pretty cute and a great deal! I think I really like it in the small accessories with the small hardware. I would love to see the GCH though.

^ Thank you! :flowers: I love Balenciaga bags, they were the first designer item I ever took notice of, previously it was all thrift-store adventures for me.

It's the first and only Satin Chain-Strap Mini Classique I've seen too, I wish I also had the Flat Clutch style with the Chain-Strap, but maybe someday I will. The chain strap makes it heaver than a regular Mini Classique, but it's not unmanageable or anything.

Thanks, imonpurseblog for the pics! I'm kinda liking that they covered the hardware with leather...I think it will wear and look cool, very distressed. I really wonder what the "explanation" card says for the Covered Hardware?
