Okay, here's the picture I received today of a RH Covered Leather Work.

Picked up my wife's giant covered hardware sapphire envelope clutch with perforated trim. It is definitely a "keeper" ! Looking closely with magnifiers, the hardware is definitely covered with very thin stretched leather; there is some minute stretch/gathered lines but not that noticeable. Just wondering where one attaches the mirror !

I don't like the covered RH at all! What is Bal thinking?! :shrugs:
My guess is they were thinking of saving money and not having to use brass, pewter etc. Probably cheap pot metal under the covered hardware. They are really cheaping out on these bags and it's not a good thing. :nogood:Cheaper leather, no extra tassels, no boxes when they ship. I'm getting really bad feelings about Balenciaga right now. They had a good thing going and I am afraid this gaudiness is going to turn buyers off and sales will plummet.
The only good thing maybe be that to recoup, they go back to Chevre and give us pewter hardware.

I would love pewter HW, too! I did see the covered HW on an envelope clutch. I think I rather have shiny HW. It was very pretty, but I had hard time falling in love with it.

You... don't like... pewter?!
I think most us gals ADORE it. I know I do.

I'm a PH lover, too...

I like the look of silver hardware, but GSH is a little too big for me. So Pewter is quite perfect. It gives Bbags that really vintage-y look, too. Plus the leather on bags that have PH is pretty amazing.
