Nope .. they both are smokers, but you are right in that Mary-Kate is a big-time smoker! Good thing that they have a LOT of $$$ to pay for all that plastic surgery they will need down the road with all the smoking! Sadly, quite a few of the Hollywood women smoke, some you wouldn't expect given that they are schlepping their "athletic attire" (that always just slays me). Remember Lara Boyle? .. she is another one - big-time smoker and then (essentially) under-nourished .. she looks HORRIBLE now!!
Lara is also an alcoholic and pill user, and that's contributed to the 'bloat' she's got going on now.

So sad that so many of these young gals come out to Hollywood (and environs) to be a 'star' and just get abused by the entertainment industry, and oftentimes .. they have issues to begin with.

Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy Split

By ALYSSA MORIN

This was a celebrity breakup no one saw coming.

On Wednesday, multiple outlets reported that Mary-Kate Olsen and her husband Olivier Sarkozy are calling it quits.

It appears the 33-year-old actress is the one seeking divorce, after five years of marriage to the French banker.

As some fans might recall, the two tied the knot in November 2015—and had been dating since spring 2012.

Considering the Elizabeth & James co-designer and the 50-year-old have been notoriously private about their romance, the duo has yet to publicly address their breakup.

Multiple outlets have reported that Mary-Kate filed for divorce, and is seeking an emergency order. According to court documents obtained by other publications, the fashion mogul attempted to file for divorce back in April 17, but was unable to do so because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Moreover, she is asking the courts that her and Olivier's prenuptial agreement be enforced.

According to multiple outlets, the former actress wants to get divorced ASAP. Mary-Kate claims the French banker is trying to kick her out of their shared New York City apartment.

She alleges that he terminated their lease without her knowledge, and feels divorce is the only way to further prevent Olivier from getting rid of her belongings.

Yikes, that sounds quite messy.

True...
But I wonder who would not - apart from boyish looking men? She appears like a weird child...an old child? I find it difficult to find the right words for this.
I totally agree, but these two pics. Yuck.

I thought with a moratorium in place, tenants cannot be evicted even if they don't pay rent. Having said that, I'm sure there are still condos for rent at this time, that she can begin a new short term lease, or just move in with a friend and stick it out. He put his name on the lease, so if he terminated it, I guess she would have no choice but to move.

She married the wrong man. Why didn't he even tell her about his decision during COVID19? It's cruel and full of malice which will sure be used against him in a divorce.

To make a long story short, a lot of these eviction moratoriums only apply to those who are facing financial hardships due to covid 19. Doubt that an Olsen twin would apply in this category.

There are also landlords/PMs who still trying their hand at evictions during this time when they shouldn’t, but I don’t know if they would risk it on a high profile tenant.

A third option is for her to work out an arrangement with the landlord, pay her own rent and stay and wait out the pandemic.

Yes, I've read this, but truth is, even if someone doesn't qualify for financial hardship, landlords cannot issue eviction notices while the moratorium is in place, no police will actually come to your door and ask you to leave if you ignore these notices, and courts are closed in the meantime.

I know a little on this issue because I'm a landlord faced with BS tenants and my lawyer tells me to stay put. There's a statewide eviction moratorium. My hands are tied in the meantime.

I’m sorry to hear and completely empathize with you as a landlord also.

I think the Olsen landlord must fall under the category of those trying their hand (maybe to pressure her into paying), I see it happening across the country even with the moratoriums going on.

And with all her money, MK should absolutely work it out with her landlord. Picking up the phone and explaining the situation is a simple courtesy, but as you probably know, there are far too many people taking advantage of a situation.

they both should have been on the lease. my understanding is that as a landlord, all parties need to be on the rental agreement as if you have someone who is living there and not on the lease, you don't have a way to evict them and they can become a squatter. why would her landlord want her out? I would think as you said, she could easily work it out with him/her. she has plenty of money. why lose a tenant with almost unlimited resources at this time?
