Thanks for sharing a mod pic on this bag, Erica. It looks great on you & i'm glad i ordered the Medium size too bec i'm just the same size as you. Now, you're getting me so excited on recieving mine.
I love it!

Thank you!! Yes, it's a good size for everyday for us petite gals...I like the large too but more for travel since it looks really huge on me.

Here's one more pic with the bag worn open...I personally like wearing it this way better. It's a slouchier look and easier to get in and out of the bag.

Wow! E, do you think the handles have the same drop as the Bal City GH handles? Because if they are, I can fit it on my shoulder comfortably. It might probably stretched out too, just like the Olsens picture.

:-sI hope I'm not going to fall in love too much w/ this bag or I'm gonna be in trouble, I might be tempted to get the black/Gold or Silver/Med.sigh....

I think these are just a tad tighter than the RH, definitely tighter than the GH. I can get the city over my shoulder too with the handles in GH no problem and this one, JUST BARELY! I have to wonder if MT made the handle drop longer in previous years because I can't imagine MK's handles stretching that much. Her bag is a few yrs old.

I decided to keep a medium Black with Silver!! I LOVE this bag. It's such a soft smooshy lightweight goat leather. Very slouchy and hip looking! I'm 5 feet tall.
So Santa was good to you after all! :yahoo:

Maybe so, maybe not...

I have a very well-loved and worn 05 City and I can get the handles over my shoulder (i'm 5'3 and small-boned)... What people are forgetting is that the Olsen's are really small-boned!

About 10 years ago I shopping at the same store, in the dressing room next to them. I'd been quite ill and was at my tiniest (about 90lbs.) and we were passing Rick Owens jackets back and forth between the three of us (we kept on coveting what the other was trying on). I was a size bigger, I believe, mostly because of my chest, but our bone structure was similar -- again, with me being slightly bigger... Honestly, those two are teeny-tiny!

Fast forward to today were I weigh quite a bit more (age, sigh, and genetics -- the chest issue again)... Yet I can still get an RH City over my shoulder, even wearing a heavy fleece. Not particularly comfortable, mind you, but if my bag is weighed down with camera lenses I will usually carry it that way for security... Chevre handles can definitely stretch over time, especially if they are weighted down.

*************

For the record, I got both sizes :p

Naling - thank you so much! You should do it!

InParis - I know they are tiny but that drop on her handles looks extremely large and she's not wearing it over the shoulder so I don't think her size is causing perception issues. The handles feel so stiff and sturdy, it just seems odd to me they will stretch that much. Maybe they will - I guess we all will see!

I'm just saying that it's totally possible...

When I first got my City, I never thought it would stretch, but it did after getting stuck outside with me in the rain and a whole lot of love and use.

But 4" is definitely smaller than the City... But you say stiff and sturdy, so maybe the handles have been reinforced over the years?

Whatever, I got the best of both worlds by ordering the two sizes from you... It's not in my nature to baby bags, so I will truly be putting them through their paces. I'm not saying I abuse them, mind you, just never fuss about weather and the like. And, sometimes, they turn into a grocery bag for a wine bottle, baguette, and whatnot...

I will definitely let you know if there is any stretch and how they hold up to the elements... From past experience, chevre has held up *much* better in such circumstances, and gets better and better with use!

cheers,
cam
(who's not in paris anymore)

Cam, LOL!! I didn't know that was you!! Keep me posted on how yours wears! I'm the same way...I never baby my bags - I hate carrying a bag that I can't use without obsessing over. I have 2 little ones and it's impossible for me to keep an everyday bag in impecable order.

i am considering ordering this bag but was considering the large but now after seeing the medium that looks pretty big. I'm 5'11" but still don't want it to be huge. I also want to be able to put it over my shoulder. Is the size difference between the med and large that different?

Many thanks for any help!! (Would love to see pics of gals who have the large)

Hi Erica, I ordered from AA the med. Was wondering though how the bag compares in size to a RM MAM if you are familiar with that bag. Would you say it's alot bigger or a tad bigger?

Thanks
Lisette

nycmom - thank you so much!!

Liz 1 - the large is quite a bit bigger. If you are 5'11", you can definitely pull it off, especially for travel, work, mommy bag, etc. I will try to post a modeling pic later today or tomorrow.

Lisette - I think it's definitely close to a size of the MAM...I have 2 of them and am familar...
