I love the idea of living somewhere like NYC where you can live in a neighborhood and walk to your local deli/grocery store/etc. and order takeout from anywhere and find incredible shopping/museums/shows on any given day. That said, I'm not a city gal. For some reason SF doesn't feel like a big city to me. I feel very at ease there. Ideally, I'd live somewhere with the ocean and the mountains within driving distance, but we're here for the long haul b/c of DH's work and our families. We'll just have to take regular vacations!!

that's how i feel about sf. it's like a big town. there's only one small portion - downtown - that feels like a metropolis. i dunno. i like how that city feels. very different from ny, but still exciting.

tbh, i haven't gone to the museums in months and i always order from the same 5 restaurants for delivery/takeout. it's because everything is here, you're in this mindset that you can do it, visit it, see it at anytime, so you end up putting it off indefinitely.

Ugh its very cold for SF right now, a trench and a scarf you must be freezing! We were in union sguare yesterday shopping, did you spot any Rolls Royce Clutches? That was me:p. We were on the bike and its was rather chilly!

Vacaville! We go up there for some of this action:

Really? All I've seen are here are outlets, more stores, a Peets coffee  and restaurants!

ETA: I didn't seen anyone with any MJs yesterday (I've been on the lookout) but we also just drove around (and around and around) parts of downtown SF. I did see a woman with a black christy today!

I go back & forth SF and SJ.. It'll be so cool if we get to meet each other! Vacaville has an outlet, maybe you could use that as an excuse..:graucho:

I could! It's just down the street from our hotel! :graucho:

We just drove around in circles (darn one way streets) looking for a place to eat and ended up picking up some burgers from in n out. :nogood:

Have you ever been to Keanu's? The H was soo excited when we found it! He's been craving hawaiian food since our honeymoon.

Even the Brooklyn real estate I look at is pricey. Have the prices gone down much since the housing market has gone down? I know that prices in California have dropped. Just curious if NYC has also seen some lower prices.

it has gone down, but some areas have held firm: soho, greenwhich, west village, ues, upper west side, and brooklyn heights. the only area that's seen a huge downturn is harlem. it's definitely a buyer's market right now. nyc hasn't been immune like some analysts projected it would be, so now's definitely the time to buy.

It definitely feels like a big city to me with all the narrow one way streets, shops, restaurants, and pedestrians everywhere! It's very different and I love it! Although I'm not sure if i'd want to drive around here.

A friend of ours lived in NYC for quite awhile and I was so surprised when she said she rarely left her neighborhood. The only time she ventured out was to go to work, but she usually spent most of her time in the Village. I kept thinking that if I lived there, I would be all over the place, but I guess you do tend to stay close to where you live.

LOL. That is SF! That is pretty funny. I take for granted my washer and dryer in my very own laundry room, but I know a lot of places don't have the space. I don't know if I would have my underwear out for the world to see, though!

Yeah, I was a passenger the whole time but we kept joking about how every street said 'no left turn' and there was a Starbucks every five feet:p

mmmm i love pumpkin spice latte and gingersnap latte - i love the addition of the candied ginger pieces this year!!!!

i drove to work today (i usually carpool) and used the parking lot across the street from our building. the guy said he'd give me a primo parking space if i bought him coffee. LOL so i said fine. the good parking spaces don't require you to leave your key. i swear they can fit 5x as many cars in this little lot than i thought possible! so i'm off to deliver this dude's coffee. he's always so nice to me when i park there and it's cold out so hopefully it will help him stay warm! :)
