O...M...G! I want a trader joes so bad after seeing those pics. Croissants are my favorite breakfast, and those look perfect (lots of store bought ones are too fluffy without enough crunchy). I'm dying over here

I think you'll love these then! They're better than the ones I used to buy at the french bakery here and i don't have to change out of my PJs!. They're perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. I sprinkled kosher salt on a few of them. YUM!!! :p

Dang, Dawn. You had to pick a tough one, didn't you.

yes, i'm a dork and took pictures of croissants.

oh my god!!! heaven!!! x 1,000,000!

pm, what is your cheat?! clues, please.

on another note, i picked up deluxe: how luxury lost its luster yesterday. i get this feeling how i'm supposed to be incensed at the decline of quality in the luxury goods industry; the author is really pushing how business and profit growth and revenue streams and bottom lines have destroyed craftsmanship, and for the most part, i completely understand what she's saying, but at the same time, i also understand that this is a business.

i don't like that mj seems to be using cheaper materials and eliminated the suede interiors, but i still find items that make me happy and that have last me through thick and thin. of course, i can't forget their amazing warranty. not all of us can afford a birkin, which seems to be the only designer bag the author approves of. :shrugs: anyone else read this book? thoughts?

You're killing me sweetart. You must try the croissants with Sarabeth's strawberry rhubarb jelly--that is like heaven in a breakfast to me, those two combined.

Dawn--I got the same thing as you, only in black! It's supposed to come on Friday. It's being held hostage an hour from here b/c UPS ground apparently is too good to deliver today. It took them forever to ship it.

 sounds delish! I usually reach for pineapple jelly but I love strawberry too! I wonder if shold even bother searching for it here.

Tad ~ Do you know if the merlot E/W tote was part of the MJ sale? I've never read that book but I'm adding it to my list of reads the next time the DH and I hang out at the bookstore.

e/w was unfortunately not part of the sale. otherwise, i would've been standing in line with the rest of them out in the cold. i saw the merlot e/w at the boutique though. a very stunning, versatile, yet understated red. almost traded in my bordeaux zc for a merlot one until tuffcookie and yes.please convinced me to keep the bordeaux cause fo the suede.

Thanks, SP! I'll have to check there! I just bought an ebelskiver there and that'd probably be a great filling to use. Not sure if it'll top nutella though.

Okay, it's time I stop talking about food now. :shame:

I bought the dark grey version from bloomies but I'd love merlot. Unfortunately the seller wants almost retail price for it.

xi, are you sure there aren't any spring bags you have your eye on? would you have to sell any of the bags you love and have now? even at 50% off, those bags are a chunk of change. they're beautiful and timeless for sure though. can't go wrong with an ostrich bag.

I've read the book and the author makes valid points. However, I don't think she offers any out of this world information that most of us aren't already aware of. While it reminded me of the huge markup luxury goods have, it didn't completely "convince" me to stop buying (ok maybe for like 2 weeks, I didn't want a new bag but then that's it). Oh well! I think it's still a good book to read though. Very interesting.
