morning everyone!

there were definitely some uber-cheesy moments in the twilight movie, but overall, i really liked it. i didn't like the part when they were in the tree and i didn't like the part where he was "explaining" everything to her...it just seemed...forced and fake. i dunno. i wasn't too impressed with bella to be honest but surprisingly, I LOVED edward. i wasn't sure if he would be able to pull it off but i think he did a great job. i loved charlie's character. loved james and laurent and victoria. LOVED ALICE!!!!!! many things were just as i pictured when i read the book. the baseball scene, what forks looked like, her truck, etc.
i can't wait for the next one!

I agree, Dawn. I was able to get past the cheesiness and some pretty bad acting/writing and just enjoy it for what it was. And I wound up LOVING Edward! (More than I did in the books, actually!) The scene where he was like, "I want to try something. Don't move." *swoons* I thought a couple characters were poorly cast (Rosalee, for one) but I'm still looking forward to the next one!

lol! i thought the same about rosalie! i am not a fan of nikki reed because i can't get past her character from the movie 13!!! i know, that's bad. lol. i think they could have found someone to fit her description a little better. don't get me wrong, nikki is very pretty, but rosalie was described as one of the most beautiful women EVERRRRRR...which I don't think nikki is.

Yeah, I always pictured Rosalie as the kind of stop-you-in-your-tracks gorgeous that seems otherwordly, KWIM? More delicate, too. Plus it's obvious the actress isn't a natural blonde and that bugged me too for some reason, lol. I wasn't crazy about the casting of Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, either. He looks bizarre with that pale blonde hair, not incredibly handsome like he was described in the books. And Jasper wasn't how I pictured him, either. I suppose that's the danger in translating books to the big screen - everyone already has a vision in their head of how things "should" be.

Jasper is not what I imagined either! Alice is spot on... still not sure I like the Edward too much. I did not like Bella at all... rewatched a little last night and she mumbles a lot!! so annoying... And haven't I seen the Carlisle actor before? And Esme is from Grey's!!

I'm up early today.... at work right now. UGH!

thithi! yes, you've seen carlisle before - he is jennie garth's husband and was in an older show called Fastlane with Tiffani Amber Theissen.
i was not sold on edward until about halfway through the movie.

Ohhhh and i thought James was played BRILLIANTLY. so sad that he's gone.

James was a good actor... too bad he wasn't Jasper instead!! So that's where I've seen Carlisle before... he looked so familiar.

There are so many inconsistencies of the movie with the book, but I guess it's the best they could do with the time allotted.... Dawn, have you read Midnight Sun yet???

Okay, so I returned the leather coat my parents got me for Christmas but I cannot find the one I want ANYWHERE! I know I've seen them on other people (I remember Jennifer Aniston having one a few years ago) but for the life of me I can't seem to track down a tan colored fitted leather jacket. If anyone comes across one would kindly let me know? It's apparently like the Nessie of coats. Who knew?

I didn't realize that, Gypsy - why isn't Taylor Lautner coming back? My son was all excited when I told him "Shark Boy" was in the movie I went to, lol.

Thanks, Thithi! I have black already but for some reason really want tan, too. I'll try Revolve...

what inconsistencies did you see? what did i miss? lol, i thought it was pretty close to the book so fill me in!
i read the first couple chapters that were on SM's site - do you have a link to the rest? PM ME PLEASE!!!!!

theres a lot missing from the book in the movie, crucial information too. i think people should read the book before seeing the movie, otherwise certain things don't make sense.

pm, yeah i guess because of jacob's "transformation" in this next movie, they're changing actors because taylor lautner isn't big enough. i'm just bummed, i really liked him and thought he was a very likable jacob.

Taylor Lautner lives up here by me and a lot of the local kids were really excited when he was cast in Twilight. My daughter is acquainted with him and says he is nice. I am pretty sure they filmed a lot of Twilight here in Santa Clarita. There is a lot of filming that goes on around here.

Thithi - At work already? EEEk. I am just about to leave. One good thing about working this week is that the traffic to downtown L.A. is super light. That won't last long. And.....I found the previous Sookie book, so I am going to start on that one later today, hopefully! I am looking forward to all the Eric drama.

I guess it's smaller details, like how she hit her head on the pavement when he saved her from the truck accident, and the sequence of events that happened in the hospital... And the entire conversation about how he is a vampire occurred in the car on the way back from Port Angeles, not in the woods outside of school. Just little things I guess, but I suppose they filmed it that way to make it more interesting.

I'm sort of glad that Jacob actor is not coming back... he will be way too young for the larger version!

Traffic has been very light this week!! I love it!!

You are soooo going to enjoy the part of Eric... at least I did anyway. Yum yum!!
